I personlly like the Sig P226. Helluva gun. Not knocking the Beretta, I'm thinking of getting one. But if I had to choose only one pistol for doomsday it would be my Sig. I don't feel I need a safety on it, it's already double-single with a decocker. Again, it all depends on your taste and hands. I actually wish my thumb was a little longer so I could be more comfy with a CZ. Another good gun. One gun I will never buy is a Browning High-power. I shot the sonovabitch for 30 years. And all of them were worn-out pieces of crap the military gave us. Many people say it's a fine gun. But all I've known for 30 years were Browning falling apart on the range and the fucking bullet going down the barrel like a hot dog in a hallway.
Seems like the P226, CZ75 and Beretta 92 are all metallic frame with double/single action. I could be fine with any of them. The Beretta 92 is at a nice price point and made in USA. If you can afford the P226 then why not pick up a Beretta as well. Getting a Beretta 96 full size then buying a 92 slide could get you two calibers for maybe less than one P226. I haven't yet handled a High-power. Hopefully I'll find on at the next un-canceled gun show.
