Hamptons resident here. A lot of the locals are Trump supporters, but we've had an influx of people moving here from the city, so we shall see. Suffolk County in general is pretty right leaning, while Nassau county is left leaning.
Only been to the City once. Had a job interview and spent nights on Long Island. Was there for a few days, rode the subway, walked around, and partied. Don't know if I saw Queens...
Then went back to Texas. But I enjoyed it. People were nice, architecture was great, and Long Island was lovely.

Well - unless you flew into Newark, NJ - you definitely saw at least some of Queens - but probably nothing you would put on a postcard.
I'd rather be living in Texas. personally.
