The businesses downtown are probably hoping that their businesses get burned down so that they can collect insurance money and gtfo of Portland.

Instead many of them are sunk into a 5 year commerical lease that sees 10% traffic, and they can't get out without going through bankruptcy.

Edit: I still bet that the employees at those places vote Democrat the rest of their lives.

As a small business owner, we hopped weather the storm. Now we have hired an attorney to get us out of our lease because the government has prevented us from being able to conduct business.

Talk to an attorney about “Force Majeure” or “Frustration of Purpose” to get out of the lease.
