You follow Peter? I think his global outlook is 100% on point. He lays out exactly how we got to where we are, and what the future will look like, and so far, he appears to have b en totally correct. According to Peter, the energy wars should be right around the corner. And with COVID slowing down the globe, oil consumption has dropped significantly, hitting OPEC's bottom line to the point they will start fighting(literally) for every last dollar.
I'm personally a little skeptical of his core claim though - that the US pulling back from the world will result in state sponsored Piracy on the high seas - creating oil tanker wars and crushing global free trade.
I’m somewhat ok with this, let the world struggle with trade and energy. Maybe then they will appreciate what we provided for them while demanding so little in return.
They took us for granted and constantly criticized us for our decisions and way of life.

Yeah I like his analysis a lot.

I think the US will still continue to buy oil en mass from the Middle East so we can maintain our influence in the region.
But they can never boycott us again (for this reason and because we are energy independent and no longer rely on Middle Eastern oil).
