I was watching from afar because I was smoking a cigarette and didn't want the noxious odor to offend anyone. I had been watching how his dog was looking at him and being reminded at how much my last dog loved me. I finished my cigarette and walked over to him. I said "find someone who looks at you like your dog is looking at you right now, and marry her". He said "I did!" then introduced me to the love of his life, his beautiful wife. I asked if I could love up on his dog and he said sure. I gave his best friend some scritchin's and had a wonderful conversation with a solid pede, his best friend and his sweetie. America doesn't get much better than the day I had. I haven't had an "day to play" since I had a couple of strokes at the beginning of the year. I truly didn't think that I would be able to be there for much time. I thought "one hour and then go home". The super high energy and love that was coursing through the crowd gave me energy I haven't felt in a long time and it was exactly what I needed. I'm beat exhausted today but it was so exhilarating and healing for me I'd do it again even if I had to battle Antifa or BLM to get there.
