She doesn't work. And her husband isn't an American citizen.

No, but legally she has to file and pay taxes if needed. She deserves to vote.

If she’s working, she still has to pay US taxes on that income.

She isn't working. She's married to a Dutch citizen who has a really posh executive job. They actually lived in China until Covid recently forced them back home to the Netherlands. She's a stay at home mom.

Well if she's a citizen you can't take her right to vote. Sorry that's just the way it is...

I hear you, I just don't understand why someone who isn't impacted by the election should have a say. She hasn't stepped foot in america for a decade.

I hear you too. One thing I think perhaps China has done right, or at least smartly, is that they do not allow dual citizenship. You can't be a Chinese citizen AND a citizen of another country. As much as I hate China, I can't even hate on them for that, in and of itself. You know? Pick. If you want to be a citizen of the Netherlands, and they'll have you, then by all means... go ahead. But you can't have both.

They dont count foreign ballots anyway unles the election results could change on the number of ballots cast by expats. Says so on the ex patriot voter registration website.

Ahh, I didn't know this! Thanks for the info! That makes a bit more sense!

Unfortunately, they treat most of our overseas military ballots as foreign ballots.
