"yes - but"

It's is pretty high concentration in the blood before you see problems.... difficult to reach without going crazy.... Some people who are vitamin diffident get a shot... 50,000IU, and you get that weekly until blood levels climb.

Just. a day in the sun (on the beach etc) produces crazy amounts of Vit D in the system.... Just 20 minutes of sunshine can get you the equivalent of 8-10,000IU of Vitamin D...

and Sun/Skin Vitamin D goes through a different (and better) chemical process in the body... it would be preferable to get Daily Vit D from the Sun... but that is pretty difficult for most people.

As winter comes on... Jumping to 5,000IU per day likely a good idea for 'inside people and screens people'

This is true but it never hurts to warn people not to over do it. After all the last thing you want to do is make yourself sick while trying to avoid getting sick.

It is not that easy to overdose on Vitamin D...

30 minutes in the Sun (beach day) is over 10,000IU of Vit D.
