I don't understand why god would make it that way since god is all knowing and therefore would have to know the future. In which case it's impossible or absurd for God to regret something since he would know it was going to happen.
Also the act of killing millions of infants and unborn babies in a flood seems monstrous.
So no I don't understand why anything would want to do that. I don't condone genocide or baby killing.
Imagine your child saying to you "I don't understand why you and mom/dad chose to create me, knowing how much evil is in the world". Then imagine saying that to the creator of EVERYTHING. The creator can use any means necessary to bring you from this life to the next. Nature itself screams of Gods existence. How would you like God to reveal himself? What about if that doesn't line up with how the next person wants him to do that? At what point do we just accept that our demands on God are the epitome of selfishness.
God is having someone write this all down. It's to make a point. He's teaching a lesson here. It's like when God tells Jonah "I am going to destroy Nineveh! Go and tell them to Repent!" Jonah runs away, Fish dispatched to bring him back on track, Vomited up on the shores of Nineveh, Goes to the city, tells them what God told him, the ENTIRE CITY REPENTS, God does not destroy the city. Did God change his mind? No. Jonah himself confirms this, when he has a pissy baby fit and yells at God saying "I KNEW you'd do this! I didn't WANT you to have Mercy on my enemies! That's why I ran away!!!" To which God replies, basically, "And who exactly in the fuck are YOU to tell me what I should do, Jonah? I've got MY plan, and it's going to happen according to MY will." God could have started this all by saying "Jonah, I am NOT going to destroy Nineveh, because you are going to go there and tell them to repent!" But you generally don't tell people what's going to come about according to their own actions, especially when you are trying to teach the lesson that people deserve destruction, but you are a Merciful God, just LOOKING for an excuse to forgive people.
You're thinking from Man's perspective. "Alive" and "Dead" are merely matters of location to an eternal being with power over both of those categories. "Alive" means on the Rocky Dirt Ball. "Dead" means here, with Me, I'm God! The Wages of Sin is Death, as the Bible says elsewhere. Death being Eternal Death; Damnation, Eternal Separation from God, the Source of All Life. Then, God takes all of these infants and unborn babies and takes them to Himself before they have opportunity to sin. In a very real way, so long as you're not constrained by Meat Logic, that's far more merciful than allowing them to live their lives in an age where humanity is so bad that everyone's gonna get Flooded to death, followed by Eternal Damnation.
How do you justify hell then? Eternal torture for a finite crime. That isn't justice. God could have made the world without evil but chose to create evil. God is the creator of evil according to the bible.
False. God created FREEDOM. Creatures, Beings, not Automatons. The original state was one where the Physical Universe was totally 100% Compatible with God, existing in a state of perfection. By Man's actions, we rebelled against God and lost that perfection. This is where Linear Time, a symptom of matter, becomes a benefit. Were we non linear beings, like God and the Angels, we'd be set in that state of rebellion constantly and permanently. Instead, via time, we can be brought to redemption. But that's a tangent. The important thing is that when our Physical Lives end, we can no longer exist in a physical universe. But being created to be Eternal, we do not wink out of existence. Instead, we are left with two possibilities. Either eternal existence with God, or eternal existence WITHOUT God. That is the "Second Death." An eternal existence but without life.
God's damnation is not an infinite punishment of a finite crime, it's an infinite consequence of going forth into our inherent infinity, but being unable to exist in that state of perfection and life that is inherent to God. This is why it's described as Christ saying "Depart from me, I never knew you." It's not "I've seen all the wicked shit you've done, and I'm super mad." It's that we're unrecognizable to our potential Savior, in whose image we were created, and who took OUR image in order to save us, because of our own rebellion, how we've twisted and ruined ourselves, and we can't go with him, and have to go... elsewhere. Outer Darkness.

Yep. Conservatives often look to the 80s as peak republican era but don't realize it was their downfall. The puritanical scare tactics were as crazy as the left is today and enabled the media to paint the left as the cool kids fighting against the establishment.
