Men do your job.
Women let them do their job.

Everyone happy

Other old books say a lot of the same about women. I'm starting to think they really did know what they were talking about

I am not as well versed in the bible as I should be (and that is something I am working on) but I would bet there are examples of strong wise Godly women as well as strong Godly men. Seems like a mature, confident man would want a woman who was strong and smart and a true partner to help him get through this life and raise good children. I don't think this Bible text reflects that type of a life partner. Now a weak and insecure man may want a woman as described in the text.

While I do agree that MEN need to be MEN, I find it unfortunate that this is in fact the New Testament saying that women need to be the submissive equivalent of dogs, and to be seen and not heard, like we tell our children today.

Just to clarify, obey and submit are not the same thing. First hint; they’re not spelled the same. Dogs obey their owners , children obey their parents, we obey laws because we have to. You can obey on the outside while inwardly rolling your eyes. Submission comes from the heart, it is voluntary and it wants what is best for the other. God speaks to the wives directly in that verse, and he never gives men authority to enforce submission on their wives.

We know that Jesus was always popular with women and children. The more Christ like a man becomes the the more his family is drawn to him.
Jesus worked hard with his hands as a carpenter, walked everywhere and slept outside a lot. He must have been strong, tanned and healthy.

I grew up Amish so all these verses and teachings are old hat. I agree these things are extremely unpopular in todays society. Fortunately I’m not a man in todays world looking for a wife!

Islam is going to be the route for female submission in American culture.

I am not at all sympathetic to Islam in the west. However Islam is perceived as stronger and it would be what would break femi ism in the west.

Tragic.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. - Galatians 3:28

For as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. 1 Corinthians 11:12

it is suggesting the same thing I know when I look at my daughter - that she is every bit as thoughtful, ambitious, courageous, and able to lead as any man
