I am a high school science teacher, and teachers get a very bad rap at times, and believe me I understand why. That very reason is because of idiots like this who don't belong in the profession. They can't reflect, they can't be unbiased, and they can't put anyone in front of themselves. Shame on him, he failed to do what education is supposed to do in this instance - garner independent thinking, reasoning, and communication skills. He's a joke.
Teachers are taught to BE BIAS, critical race theory, white fragility, equity in the classroom, how to be anti racist no place for hate, etc are things teachers and school districts are pushing. All of the teachers unions are backing democratic socialist policies and candidates.
What is your location? Deep red state? Private school? I cant imagine you could say that you dont believe in any of this "anti-racist" propaganda in one of your equity meetings at school.
Pa, public HS, 12,000+ student body in the district. Believe me, you're not wrong.. I've seen it...the union here (which I left) literally holds meetings to tell you to vote for these bad politicians bc they'll fund public ed and keep your pension. This is my first year registered so I'll get to vote against these people. Problem is, the entire public system is fucked. Badly. The entire thing needs a haul. Unions promote bad teaching, not just what you mentioned... They allow teachers to be bad at their jobs and not be held accountable. I work my ass off for these kids (especially now, online)... And I see no difference than the teacher next to me that does nothing. If you have tenure in my district... You (basically) can't be fired. Period. The stories I have of what some teachers have done/do and nothing happens is ridiculous.
