It's for real. Chris Plante was talking about it on his show today. I posted the link above, Michael Shear was complaining in an interview that the White House hadn't called to talk to him about who he was in close contact with, since he knew ten or 11 days ago that he had the Corona Virus.
10 or 11 days ago, we didn't know that Hope Hicks or Trump were infected.
So this NYT reporter basically just admitted that he carried it into the WH press pool, and he's blaming the White House for their lack of effort in contact tracing.
