I’ll go one better, have teachers who educate students, parents who discipline kids and support education and the ability for teachers to be fired for poor performance.

School choice alone is only a bandaid on the bigger problem

Teachers don’t get fired because of the unions. For the most part the kids who have good parents are the ones whose parents are involved enough to take them to the better school. Unfortunately a lot of parents don’t give a shit and will just keep their kid at the shitty school but school choice is going to help the kids who have the good parents that are involved.

The real problem is that even if you took all the students who could logistically get to a better school, there are still plenty of other left behind in a shitty school, with shitty teachers and probably a % parents who don’t care. Those kids are screwed....need to fix that root cause

School Choice is more then just choosing a school. It allows for charter school and online options as well. It’s easy for people who went to a public school that is just OK, but their are kids whose public school is so bad that it’s almost worse to go to that public school then to not go at all. If there is a solution that helps a significant portion of students why does it need to help everybody?
