There are some shitty cops, and there are some shitty laws they enforce, but that doesn't mean we should disrespect the 99% of good cops willing to do the other 99% of the job that you take for granted. Another tip, get licensed for concealed carry. Telling a cop as soon as he/she gets to your door "hey i'm a CCW holder and my gun is in/on _____ , what do you want me to do?". I can't tell you the number of times that has turned a speeding ticket into a warning by the time i got done talking about guns for 10 minutes.
You'd think it would make the situation worse but it quickly de-escalates as soon as they see your dome light on at night, your hands on the wheel, and you greet them with "what can i do to make this interaction safe for you and me".
Treat them like shit, disrespect them, and they aren't going to do you any favors. Treat them like human beings and don't be a piece of shit and your police interactions will dramatically improve.
