I guess I have to say it to make sure you understand: I didn't say I agreed with his treatment at MSNBC; I remember thinking that demoting him and giving him a few months off was reasonable, but I don't remember what his offense was. It did not seem like a career ending thing, whatever it was. I did not expect his Rapper's Delight to get scrubbed from YouTube and thought that was inappropriate overkill and censorship.
I wish I had something intelligent to say, but I don't anything about any of that.
I just don't pay enough attention to these people, and my brain is thoroughly wetted.
But I find Brian Williams to be self-deprecating and witty. And again, there's the place in this world for people who just LIKE other people, regardless of their affiliation or curricula vitae.
He's a charming, funny dude. And we need more of HIM on our side.
If I remember correctly, his career ending move came about a news segment where he recalled the time flying in a helicopter and it being hit by enemy rockets in Iraq. In truth he was never in any danger. But... that is just what I remember and it could have been for anything.
