This ain’t the full story. Duterte likes Trump. But he can’t get the help Trump promises because of the bipartisan bullshit in the US. But he likes Trump a lot. And he is so much like Trump that he just wants what’s best for his country.
He needed some weapons. The US said they’ll help but cannot deliver. He waited but it never happened. He understood that Trump is limited because of the stupid Congress we have. Russia on the other hand delivers so he welcomes them.
