They're going to "fact check" him and say it's "only" 80,000 that die in the US every year from the flu and that the flu shot is not a "vaccine", further assuring the dispensing of said red pills.

Follow the money......... 2008 stimulas...... ' Rona Stimulas They have these so they can give out money with no checks on where it's going. I've had a theroy for a long time that the Arab spring was funded with extra funds from the 2008 stimulas. There was a report I remember hearing that they had 100s of millions dollars come up missing in early 2009 never heard anything about it again.

A crisis is too good to waste.

It’s rather convenient how the Arab spring took out every government that opposed US intervention in the Middle East right up until Russia called Barry’s bluff in Syria.

They are a pharma revolving door so the budget is less important than setting policy. CDC is as swampy as any agency out there.

18
Crisatunity_knocks 18 points ago +18 / -0

It's brilliant. They are going to factually advise that COVID killed TWICE as many people as the Flu. It's TWICE as deadly! And people are going to take a look around at their communities devastated by lockdown, unemployment and rioting and ask themselves "so COVID19 killed twice as many people I know that died last year from the flu? - wait, I don't personally know anyone who has just up and died from the Flu, ever."

14
HuggableBear 14 points ago +14 / -0

Best part is that in the fact check they're going to have to admit that there have been years with over 100k, which is precisely what he said, and they will still label it as misleading.

Then they will go on to explain how not all of those people died from the flu because many of them had underlying conditions, at which point the red half of the country will do the Nic Cage face "YOU DON'T FUCKING SAY?"

If there's one thing the virus has done for me this past year, it's gotten me to absolutely hate and despise fat people. Time and again it's been the fattest of the fats that have been screaming about how bad the virus is. We're killing them by not wearing a mask they yell at us! They claim that I'm putting their health at risk by not wearing a mask. Well, fuck, them.

If they cared about their health so much they'd put down that 4th donut, go for a run, and lift some weights, but they don't do that. They never do that because that's hard and requires self-discipline which they have none of. But wearing a mask? That's easy! That doesn't require any effort and then the fatty can feel like they're taking care of themself!

But oh no! Look over there! It's a person that's not in terrible shape and, and... THEY'RE NOT WEARING A MASK! Don't they know that they're directly putting the fatty at risk!? It's not the 6th chili dog that he's shoveling down its gullet for breakfast, no, no no no no no... it's that person over there who won't wear a mask!

I'm so fucking sick and tired of the fatties ruining everything for the rest of us and most of all, I'm sick of being held responsible for their shitty health.

The amount of people who believe freedom and liberty comes with a contingncy where they halve to be placed on hold "during exceptional circumstances" baffles me.

Your fundamental rights aren't protected so long as they're easy to recognize. Moments like these are precisely when they matter the most.

I admit that I lapsed in my integrity when this all kicked off. I'd been keeping up to date on Wuhan, told family and friends that we're in for a Hell of a ride, and I was made fun of for stocking up on the food I knew would be panic-purchased once people realized what was happening.

I was in favor of lockdowns at first because I shook when I was scared. It was like this massive cloud of the unknown coming at us. I don't believe the fear was unjustified and I do believe the virus had more bite to it at first (which seemed to mutate into a significantly more benign strain early on), but even though the fear may have been justified, I'm still kicking myself over giving into the desire for security.

What blows my mind is that with our enhanced understanding of how it works, who it affects, how to treat it, etc., people still treat it how I was in the first week or so of shit getting real.

Apologies for the rant. I think I'm especially frustrated with people since I see my first-few-weeks-self in their attitudes today.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
5
PoppinKREAM 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think the first few moments were the various states who immediately jumped on the opportunity to play tyrant in a way that can't be justified as "we did what we thought was best in a moment of fear," i.e. churches being shut down, encouraging reporting neighbors for violating distancing guidelines, restricting which goods you could/could not purchase, etc. that snapped me out of it for the most part. That in addition to the first protests (the anti-lockdown folks) made me realize "wait a fucking second, theyre right, wtf are we doing to ourselves?).

At that point I was back to a good baseline, but the riots and protests are what did me in for good. I'd known at this point that the virus is only contracted if you're in an enclosed space with a certain viral load for a certain amount of time. Outside was perfectly safe to not wear a mask so long as people continued to not spit directly into strangers' mouths.

But the fucking riots.. i couldn't believe how fucking blatant the media went from calling a handful of people protesting the shut downs were terrorists using intimidation, while my city was literally burning to the ground and being called a peaceful protest.

I think all in all, it was maybe the 2nd week of fear mongering by the time I broke out of the hysteria. I took it seriously in the sense that I have family who are vulnerable, but I just behaved how I do during a flu season (wash my hands more often, keep active, pay attention to symptoms, etc.), just with the added piece of "get in and get out" when shopping (since enclosed spaces with certain viral loads are where most of the risk lies).

That being said, I don't really care how others go about it. Family members with vulnerabilities are my problem - not theirs. Its up to my family members to decide what they're comfortable with, up to me to agree, my responsibility to be calculated with my outings, my responsibility to get tested before a flight to see 'em, etc. The idea that others' lives must revolve around my family and my problems is absurd.

Again, sorry for the long rant. My mind's all over the place atm.

Stellar ... stellar stat from John MacArthur:

"The whole state of California is deceived about reality. We were in court today and our attorneys presented a statistic to the court that is staggering. The statistic is this: if you’re between the ages of 50 and 64 in California, you have a 1 in 19.1 million chance of dying of COVID, and yet this whole state is locked down in the most severe level."

4

HuggableBear -1 points ago +2 / -3

It's funny that you seem to recognize the failure of your logic but don't apply it to your own argument.

If the Powerball were played multiple times every single day, and every time someone went outside they bought a ticket, your snarky attempt at legitimacy would make sense.

You clearly understand that in order for someone to be part of a statistic, they must first be part of that statistical sample. If you're going to compare every single person actively playing powerball, then you need to compare every single person being exposed to covid.

Your statistical hypothesis has to be based on similar circumstances, otherwise comparing them is less than useless.

Millions of people play powerball every week. Millions of people have been exposed to covid. Far more people have died from covid.

If you're going to start including the people who aren't exposed to covid in your statistics, then you have to start including the people who don't play powerball. You can't compare odds from a small segment of the population and use it to make a comparison to the entire population.

But please, keep telling me how I don't understand statistics.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0

p8riot -2 points ago +10 / -12

That statistic doesn't make any sense. There are only 2.5 million total people in California in that age range.

If even 1 person died, that would make it 1 in 2.5 million - so 1 in 19 million is impossible.

16
Tyrone_biggums 16 points ago +18 / -2

Calculating someone’s odds of dying from something isn’t bound by their population... It sounds like they multiplied several probabilities together, I wouldn’t mind seeing how it was arrived at

-5
p8riot -5 points ago +5 / -10

What do you mean? Women have a 1 in 7 chance of getting breast cancer

That means 1 in every 7 women, statistically, will end up diagnosed with it

5
CantStumpTheTrump 5 points ago +10 / -5

I'm just going to say it, you're dumb as shit.

That also means 2 in 14,

It also means 20 billion in 140 billion, or 10 billion in 70 billion even though there aren't that many people.....

Did you just sleep through math?

1
Colonel_Chestbridge 1 point ago +2 / -1

I think they have a point, they are just making it poorly.

If only 1 in 19 million die of COVID, that means there would only be 2 COVID deaths for that age group in all of California. The number is clearly higher than that, so this statistic is bullshit

1
CantStumpTheTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

No they don't they are dumb. They would have said that the numbers don't match reality if that were the case. Not argue that a 1 in 50 billion chance isn't a real stat because there aren't 50 billion people.

And then their reply to me based on that stat is "Sorry if you don't know how to simplfy fractions." like how is that even your take away? Sorry the person your defending is just a dumb fuck.

0
day221 0 points ago +1 / -1

So your odds of dying from covid are orders of magnitude LOWER than dying from the flu? Look, I believe the response to covid has been entirely irrational and downright malicious, but the numbers you guys are spreading here are obviously nonsense. I don't think you understood the point of the person you replied to.

0
p8riot 0 points ago +1 / -1

If you don't know how to simplify fractions, I can't help you.

1
CantStumpTheTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh, you're not just dumb, you're stupid.

1
p8riot 1 point ago +1 / -0

You're not just ignorant, you're rude. But I'll school you anyway.

20 billion in 140 billion is still 1 in 7.

1 in 19 million is already simplified, you can't reduce it down.

11
farstriderr 11 points ago +12 / -1

That's not how stats work. Stats just give odds of something happening. They don't literally tell you how many people it will happen to.

Simply put, say the odds of dying were 1 in 4. That means your chances of dying are 25%. That does not mean that one person will always die out of every 4 people. It could be none die, or they all could die, or anything in between.

1
HuggableBear 1 point ago +3 / -2

No, but it means in a large enough sample size the actual data will in fact approach that number.

1 in 4 dying doesn't mean 1 person will die out of a group of 4.

It does mean that out of 20 million people, the number of dead will be near 5 million.

The sample size they are dealing with is large enough to provide accurate statistics.

You also have to factor in time frames. There is a 100% death rate for every living creature on this planet. But not today.

I suspect they used time frames to extend those numbers because it's easily provably false any other way. As he said, even one person dying in that age range gives the lie to that stat, and a lot more than 1 have died from it.

It's more likely to be something like "On any given day, people 50-64 in California have a 1 in 19 million chance of dying from covid."

-4
p8riot -4 points ago +4 / -8

What do you mean? Women have a 1 in 7 chance of getting breast cancer

That means 1 in every 7 women, statistically, will end up diagnosed with it

So that's why the Cali stat makes no sense. There are 2.5 million people in that age range, so even if only 100 people died, that's already a 1 in 25,000 chance (still very good odds to be fair)

7
charbatch 7 points ago +7 / -0

Here's a fun idea: let's use something liberals have forgotten. It's called "common sense." Remember how we deal with flu season every single year and don't lose our minds? Be smart. Wash your hands. Don't lick random things. If you're sick, stay home.

There are definitely ways to minimize risk without hurting the economy or setting up a government snitch-on-your-neighbors hotline.

16
inquimouse 16 points ago +18 / -2

It's that part about staying home--when I had to work for other people, across many settings, there were always little breakouts from people who had used up their sick leave, they needed the money, they wouldn't let the crew down, they weren't going to let a cold beat them, etc. Like they deserved some praise for making everyone else sick.

When we first started getting more information on the virus (how it was only really a threat for the elderly and immunocompromised) my first thought was ok lets just protect them. 6 months later we are still no closer to fixing this damn thing and people are wildly unknowledgeable about what the virus does and who it harms. Seriously at the first task force briefing Birx was talking about how we have to protect old people and AIDS patients but today children aren't in schools, offices aren't open, and the country is tearing itself apart. The media still won't hold politicians who intentionally exposed the most vulnerable population to the virus and killed them in droves accountable. We haven't stopped the spread and have introduced health measures that are utterly useless and modeled after the country that let this spread in the first place.

This is pure lunacy. Even the CDC's age demographic chart is enough to drive me crazy

8
daveinpublic 8 points ago +8 / -0

An interesting stat from those charts:

95% of deaths are 50+ y/o. And 80% of deaths are 65+ y/o.

So if you're younger than 65 y/o, or especially 50, the odds of dying from coronavirus looks a lot different. Especially since only 15% of the coronavirus cases are people over 65 y/o, but they still make up 80% of the deaths.

I really wonder how people who only watch/read MSM would react to these numbers. Less than 1000 people who are younger than 30 have died with COVID less than 3000 who are younger than 40.

i think one of the more interesting things is the testing data. We are mass testing population groups that face little mortality rate from the virus and doing far less testing on those who are at highest risk. We've administered over 119 million tests nation wide and most of it is being given to people who feel little effect from it at all.

DarkMemeDuck 6 points ago +6 / -0

Me too. It's been endless arguments for 7 months now. I've watched people who were anti mask and anti shutdown slowly turn to being scared Karen's and I just eventually shut my mouth over it. The argument was lost. It drove me nuts every damn time Trump would come out and sell the line that Corona was as bad as the media said. It was the one place in the last 4 years that I think he was patently wrong. I'm glad he's coming around, I just wish it happened 7 months ago.

GEOTUS is all in on nuking the hysteria. Just when I thought he might play politics for once. NOPE. WuFlu panic BTFO.

Question is do more people believe the president or the media because they are diametrically opposed at this point. This will be America's litmus test.

Cyer6 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think he is. This scam is being used for multiple leftist purposes, but the main one right now is to influence and corrupt the election. Trump has nothing to lose by taking it on and destroying its power over people. He needs to start pushing red state governors like Abbott in Texas to open up and kill the mandates. Get those states open and it'll put pressure on blue states. He needs to fight this 100% as it's the biggest threat our country has seen in decades.

Democrats went all-in on fake compassion and concern for the 'Rona.

Now Trump is systematically demolishing their narrative.

It's beautiful to watch.

4

I really hope he's seeing this as our biggest threat. It's an evil cult that's taken over and destroying the country. The way he ripped that mask off and stuffed it in his pocked last night at the WH, he had a look of disgust on his face and that was important.

34
iIndianaJones 34 points ago +34 / -0

He's back and he's stronger than ever. If I was Biden, I wouldn't even show up for debate no.2. Trump is on the war path. You know the saying, what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. 3 days. 3, fucking, days. That's it. He went into WR for precautionary measures. The media had a field day with it. Trump is in the danger zone. He's in bad shape. The next 24-48 hours are critical. Anonymous sources and bullshit. 3 days later, he's standing at the White House, saluting Marine 1, giving the middle finger to everyone. Joe Biden would be shitting his diaper's and reading The Garbage Pail Kids comics.

If they're doing illegal and unconstitutional things (they are), imo he should be able to find SOME way to stop them since it's NOT their right to infringe on our rights.

But those "states rights" are infringing on the citizens constitutional rights and per the constitution is UNCONSTITUTIONAL so they can take their "states rights" and get fucked.

I can't wait to see how few people died from the flu this year though....

18
tonightm16 18 points ago +18 / -0

I know he had to wait until "flu season" to be like this but I wish he was like this with other deadly diseases and illnesses. The COVID cult has been left to develop for far too long.

Where I live Cancer has killed more people since March than COVID. Suicide rates are skyrocketing. The overall mental health is failing. Millions across the world face being sunk into poverty through unemployment because governments only care about COVID. Nothing else matters to them.

The only pandemic people should be worried about is the COVID cult. They will happily watch places collapse as long as Amazon can still deliver their new Nintendo Switch game.

5
ausredpill 5 points ago +5 / -0

Military suicide rate is up 20% according to CBS news. If this trend applies nationally, that's 10,000 additional deaths to suicide entirely attributable to lockdown. When you add in all other causes, lockdown has caused 10s of thousands of deaths, indisputably.

What I would like to point out, is despite Trump going along with the virus hysteria lies until this point, they still have said he was denying science and experts, that it is all his fault. So I don't think it helped him at all to not go against the flow. Stick to principles. They will just create a reality that denies you agree with them, even if you are.

sustainable_saltmine 14 points ago +14 / -0

are we doing to close down our country? no? then do something about preventing the Governors from doing it. They will go backward in lockdowns if not. They're already scheming to use the Flu as their "second wave of coronavirus" and lock us down again or at least prolong current restrictions. They're trying to make masks, social distancing and expecting big restrictions on daily life a permanent fixture on us just because "disease exists in the world"

14
Teeje92 14 points ago +14 / -0

He is so absolutely fucking right about this and the Dems will just not let it happen. They would rather we all get depressed and unemployed and lose our friends and family than have trump in office again

I joined this site specifically to say how completely fucking heroic this is. He's right. He's fucking right. COVID-19 is real. It is nasty. But, at worst, it's like have four bad flu seasons in one year, followed by a return to normal as herd immunity kicks in. It isn't worth wrecking the economy for it. The overwhelming majority, even in Trump's demographic, survive. Those who don't are in their 70s or 80s, or have signficant comorbidities. We're getting better at protecting ourselves every day. We shouldn't be afraid of it. Masks are a modern day talisman designed to ward off the fear that we ourselves have invented. This is the bravest statement by a President in 50 years..

9
abiisthebestwifeever 9 points ago +9 / -0

Brilliant because now Biden has to either agree or clearly come out in favor of a second shutdown. The people in blue states are going to revolt. They've had enough of their overlords.

9

Except Medicare doesn't pay a jackpot bonus for patients with the flu.

9
wearefeverpitch 9 points ago +9 / -0

9
krakah293 9 points ago +9 / -0

Don't let anyone tell you the deaths from flu season are because it's over such a long period of months in the year (October to February). The overwhelming majority of deaths happen over two months from late November to new years.

Surely this means we have to make cancel Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years right?

9
ApocalypseWoW 9 points ago +9 / -0

It irks me to think of all the flu cases they will try to pass off as the Chinese virus. It's already giving me a headache.

8
drachennwolf 8 points ago +8 / -0

Flu season is going to be super bad this year. We've "flattened the curve" which means we've pushed new covid cases into the winter. Hospitals ARE going to be overwhelmed due to the combo of flu, rsv, pnuemonia, and covid.

Democrats are retarded for this.

8
MaxineWaters4Prez 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes! Thank you!

I know what the cucks and traitors were up to. Using the seasonal flu to justify another 6 months of masks and shutting down the country. Fuck that shit, get ahead of it and end this now.

1
sustainable_saltmine 1 point ago +2 / -1

he can't. The root of the problem is that we declared virus response to the States as a "states issue" so Trump really has no weapons to use if the Democrat Governors declare another state of emergency or use powers to lock down again. Maybe the best he can do is threaten to withhold money from the states, but then he gets screaming that he's "being heartless and doesn't care while people die in <state> because he won't bail them out"

2
GoldenEagle1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

The simple solution is to simply gut the health department on the federal level. If they can't get any data they can't come up with a bullshit excuse.

1
MaxineWaters4Prez 1 point ago +1 / -0

They'll scream no matter what he does.

He could give puppies and cupcakes to everyone on a sunny day with rainbows and bouquets of flowers, and the left would still find some way it was going to destroy the world.
