Exactly, look at the media's visceral hatred for Christians and western ideals, then figure out who exactly these media types really are. Then it all makes sense.
I don't understand the issue with saying that Christians and Jews are different. It's accepted as self-evident that Christians and Muslims are different. Christians and Buddhists. Christians and Hindus. No one disputes these ideas.
But if you point out the natural tension between Christians and Jews, oh no, hate speech or something. Bizarre. Do we think 1700 years of religious tension went away because of the Revolutionary War?
I don't think anyone has issues with saying that they're different? I don't think anyone would even have issues with saying that there's even a natural tension (given that Christianity branched off of Judaism, where Christians accepted the fulfillment of messianic prophecies, whereas the Jews did not). Does that make them incompatible in a society? Not really.
This is not exactly accurate, as the central ideas of Christianity are not accepted by Jews. It is probably accurate to say that Protestantism branched off from Catholicism, and various sects from there. Protestants' beef with Catholics doesn't exclude Jesus or introduce an alternative path to God.
The relationship of Jews and Christians is very different and requires additional consideration. What do you think the role of Jews in Christianity actually is? Why do you think they call it the OLD Testament, rather than Book 1, or something?
It is widely accepted here that some strains of Islam are incompatible with the West. Perhaps some strains of Judaism are, as well?
Because Christianity sprouted off of Judaism. It accepts all of the original tenants and beliefs of Judaism, but without the need to apply Jewish customs and traditions due to Christ's sacrifice.
It's called the Old Testament because the word "Testament" means agreement. It was the old contract with God, and now we're on the new contract. We don't erase that the old contract existed, and there's still much to learn from it. But we got a better deal.

Islam as a whole is incompatible due to its inherent beliefs. Christianity does not call any of God's law in the Old Testament evil, because God still established it. Sure, there are Jews who are incompatible with the West, just like there are Christians, atheists, Hindus, etc. who are incompatible with the West. The problem is not the Jewish race or religion.

The Talmud would like to have a word with you.
I'd be more than glad to speak to them.
