I had to end my friendship with a woman who is in a high risk category. She truly believes that it isn’t fair for her to be confined to her home while others don’t have to. When I pointed out, unlike her, a retired teacher who will continue to receive her full pension, my income has decreased by half as a result of the shutdown, she wasn’t sympathetic at all. I said the state should cut her benefits in half if she really wants fairness. She took umbrage.
