The public was in no mood to trust the health officials. 10 years ago they told parents to get their children vaccinated for swine flu which lead to some kids developing narcolepsy.

I was told that there was nothing in their constitution that would allow them to force a lockdown or masks, so they just told people to stay home if they were sick.

Right now if my kids get the sniffles they are told they have to stay home from school until the sniffles end, then wait 2 additional days. School is where they have the authority to mandate more harshly, so that's where we see it mandated.
