It would be a good idea in contract negotiations next time to include clauses to the effect that salary will be tied to viewership/attendance....if players do/promote/cause actions that reduce viewers, their salaries will be proportionally cut.

They already have that, with a salary cap (and escrow).

They're already taking a huge hit next year, due to the lost ticket sales and lost China revenue. (Remember that, when a GM criticized China regarding Hong Kong, and was forced to back down? The players who are so quick to criticize police in the USA, say nothing about Hong Kong.)

The NBA TV contract is signed through 2025, so there won't be a hit to revenue for another 5 years, if the ratings stay down.

You're assuming the networks won't renege. Or, more likely, threaten to renege to force a renegotiation.

Thanks for the information....I haven't been a big follower of the NBA since Michael Jordan and the Bulls clinched the 4peat Championship while I was living in Chicago.
