Crazy theory: maybe the nba owners petitioned the league to get in bed with hate groups like BLM to tank nba ratings and revenue. A temporary hit to save millions in player salary in the future. Maybe too smart to be true.

No. They're trying to pander to China because NBA ratings have been declining since the mid-90s. They know the US market is done with the NBA. This is the bottoming out process.
