Just a guess that neither your family nor any close friends got USDA help during the 80's Reagan Recession?
I went to school with a lot of kids whose families got "gov't cheese" (among other products) from the USDA surplus.
Sometimes Capitalism needs a little compassionate redistribution of excess supplies in times of need. Heck, there were stories on this site back in April/May about farmers trashing food when it could have been sent to those suddendly unemployed and stuck in their states backlog of claims for weeks on end.

That's not what this is. The USDA is giving free lunches to every single child. you make a Million dollars a year? you can get a free lunch.
The website for this program says it delivers to "families in need". Pretty sure my family would be turned down unless I commited fraud.
You're conflating a social program for communism. A fine line, for sure, but no farmer is losing their business.. quite the opposite.
