Why are we contributing to the fear of something that most of us have a greater chance to be struck by lightening than to die from? I’ve had to stop listening to several ‘conservative’ talk shows because they are promoting wearing masks for ‘common sense’. reasons. Am I missing something? I get it, we don’t want to be jerks, or in some cases get tased. Some of us work for companies that require them, but given the choice why on earth would anyone with a brain choose to do this?

It's simple, grocery stores and other stores of necessity say you need a mask otherwise you can't go in, so people wear it. People generally try to avoid conflict, unless there was a massive effort for an overwhelming amount of people to not wear it then people aren't going to want to be that guy on the internet who gets thrown out of store and starts screaming about commies.
