Comply for now. Lots of people are super brave on the internet when it's someone else that's taking the risk. I'm in the Navy, and they just started having us wear them in the public spaces at my command. I was looking forward to telling my grandkids that I never wore the stupid mask, but I am NOT going to Captain's Mast over this stupid BS.
Your responsibility is to yourself and your family, and only you can decide what's best for your situation.
We all need to start pushing the boundaries. Don't get mad when people tell you to wear a mask. Calmly tell them you are not sick and do not need one. They will lash out (mostly out of fear) but be calm. Carry your mask with you in your pocket and put it on if it becomes to much of a big deal, but we all need to be pushing back on this. I live in Los Angeles and I went through an entire grocery store trip with my wife not wearing a mask. Got some dirty looks but that's it, nobody said shit. Gonna keep doing it.
They have the right to refuse service to anyone but I try as much as I can to not wear a mask when possible. I work from home but when I do go into the office I wear one as we were told anyone refusing to wear a mask would be considered insubordinate. Some choose to work from home strictly because of this... I see the point you're making though. What to do? Lose your job over this retardedness?
Carry a gun like I do out in public and nobody will say a fucking word to you. When you go into a store just have an empty holster with a couple mags, They'll get the message.
I live in a conservative state on the outskirts of a slightly less conservative city which has a mask mandate in place. Almost everywhere I go, I’m literally the only person not wearing one. So far the only person who has said anything was a worker at a pizza joint asked where my mask was when I walked in to pick up my order. I told him I don’t do masks. He said that they can get in trouble for serving me so I told him to call the cops if he was worried about getting in trouble... he didn’t say anything after that. Yesterday a lady and her teenage daughter basically ran from me like covid blood was squirting from my eyes. They didn’t say anything to me, but my daughter said they were talking about how they couldn’t believe we haven’t been kicked out of the store yet. Other than that, I have had only positive comments and many people lower their masks when I approach them. Anyway, I don’t know where you are, but I’m guessing a liberal city since you’re getting such strong pushback. My only advice would be to keep trying different places and hopefully you’ll find some stores that don’t care. I think you could probably file lawsuits if you actually have a medical condition and were refused service or not reasonably accommodated, and many lawyers will take that case pro bono, but you’d probably have to prove your condition at that point. To answer your question, I don’t think the police here would do anything, so I’m not really worried about getting arrested. They’re not under the direction of liberal tyrants like some cities. Your situation is different and nobody can answer these questions for you. A person who owns his own business probably doesn’t care as much about getting arrested than someone who’s job depends on not getting arrested. If your life is greatly effected in a negative way, then you have to decide what’s best for you. Nobody should judge you for wearing a mask so you can continue to put food on the table. There’s no shame in that. Do what you have to do. Good luck!
Given the political nature, and the blatant unconstitutionality of mask orders, I'd bet a few would take your case to make a name for themselves on the national stage.
I saw elderly with a mask with long sleep and long pants taking a walk a whole summer. We have known that getting sunlight is very important for vitamin D intake. Those mask nazi really don't know anything else other than wearing a mask. It means that very uninformed and unintelligent people wear a mask.
Being arrested is not a reasonable fear. People might scold you but they're not going to arrest you. You can always say "Oops I forgot" and put the mask on.
In terms of how to behave: you have lots of options.
First and foremost, simply don't wear it and go about your business. This works fine 90% of the time (I'm in an area where masks are mandated, so I know) but you just have to have the courage to do it.
If confronted, you need to decide what to do based on the situation.
You can say quietly "I already recovered and have immunity".
You can say "Oh, I'm sorry, I had part of my lung removed and can't comply with that."
You can say "I don't want to" (that's my favorite. Especially if you repeat it. They don't know what to do).
You can whine.
You can leave (that's one of my favorites: Say "Ok. I decided I don't want to shop here then." LET THEM FUCKING STARVE)
You can decide you have to deal with this business and put the mask on.
If it's at a restaurant, I like to tell them "Ok but I'm cutting your tip in half for this", do that, and then write a note to the server saying "Appreciated your service but had to deduct 50% because hostess hassled me about a mask. Sorry, rules are rules!"
You can leave a review on Yelp or Google Maps saying "This place is very strict with mask compliance. If you enjoy that, this place is for you. If you dislike it, you should shop elsewhere."
You can find businesses that don't hassle you and exclusively patronize them and over-tip lavishly to reward them.
You can find groups of people (they're everywhere) that meet in person without masks and businesses that support them (look around early in the AM and see all those places that are open before they're supposed to be open and look inside), and share information about where to go.
Yes. Washington state here. Haven't worn a mask except a couple times in the beginning because of work. And at doctor's because I have no choice. Either my kid sees a doctor or not. I'd take that bullet for them. But fuck in public. No thanks. I'll won't patronize your business if your going to cuck out.
I wear mine in stores in my fucked up blue state only so the store owners don't have to deal with fines or crazy Karens. I do it out of respect for the owners.
Hope people vote out the commie fascists. Doesn't really matter to me. I'm moving anyway.
If you don't already know where this slippery slope is going I can't help you and you might as well bend the knee now and make your life easy. If you are smart enough to understand the world of shit we now find ourselves, prepare accordingly.
There will come a time when they ask far more of you than a mask. Many will comply willingly just to keep their Netflix. Choose your side and start preparations.

KEK! Imagine being in the DoD and thinking you have ANY free will. You are Uncle Sam's bitch or did no one break the bad news to you.

If you need some motivation, the latest Amazing Polly video really put a fire under my ass to get this going. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP6mApouvAw&ab_channel=AmazingPolly
Edit: full disclosure I wear it to work because I'm not trying to lose my job. I just don't wear it in public.
Also, when they start arguing with you. Politely let them know you are hard of hearing and read lips.
Don't wear one? Nothing is going to happen.
Said someone who's never had any consequences of it.
Its not the hill to die on now. Us older pedes with careers businesses mortgages etc have to comply for now.
Then when and where do we rally and counterattack?
Trump said stand by...
People always say that...if a large enough percentage made it "a hill to die on"...it would GO AWAY
Educate yourself at thehealthyamerican.org the law works for those that know how to use it.
Good luck. I told a store owner she can't ask about my health condition, HIPPA laws, and she told me I had to have a mask or get out of her store.
I can smell your ignorance from here. You have no clue.
Then nod and walk out of her store. And find a different store. And do that over and over until you have found the places that will not hassle you.
If you let people dominate you, you are going to be dominated. Embrace your name, 'pede.
Yep...exactly...i hate walmart but i only shop there since i know after the door commie they will leave me alone

What is life without freedom...may as well be behind bars at least its Honest.
Why is this same question posted over and over again. Your decision whether or not to wear one.
Because no one answers adequately.
Do you believe everything you read on the internet?
Carry a gun like I do out in public and nobody will say a fucking word to you. When you go into a store just have an empty holster with a couple mags, They'll get the message.
This pede gets it.
You want to not wearing in a group. You will get targeted alone but 10-20 people together? Nobody even police won't do anything with it.

Everywhere I've been employed has done a background check. If you were arrested, you're out. I'm supposed to do that??
Hire a lawyer, have it expunged.
Given the political nature, and the blatant unconstitutionality of mask orders, I'd bet a few would take your case to make a name for themselves on the national stage.
