That's a way better analogy.

Carriers project power and are therefore are primarily a offensive weapon.

But his analogy is true in that the masks are being used against us.

I'm gonna be that guy and say that the Maginot Line was a much better idea than it looked.

An impenetrable fortress all the way along the border, and then the French army were supposed to be stationed inside Belgium since that was the only way around it. Belgium were to fortify their border with the help of the French army and the two would take on Germany together.

But the king of Belgium threw a tantrum and decided to lock the French out and immediately got conquered by Germany, which meant the French forces had to fight the Nazis on an unexpected front without the help they were previously promised.

If Belgium had held-up their end of the deal then there would have been far more available infantry to defend the Ardennes. And let's face it, it was a total miracle all those tanks got through that forest as it was.

So what I'm ultimately saying is, the bloody Maginot Line was a better idea than these facemasks.

Politics is always shitting the bed.

Throughout all of history!

It's always some dumb fuckin "government", be they tyrant or king or other, that has a hissy fit and causes unnecessary carnage to friends and foe alike.
