Wait... so do they think people are gonna be in a tantrum because of something that happened three years ago... as opposed to what they've seen in the past few months... yeah ok, ABC.
The narrative of Charlotteville has long been twisted. You had a bunch of people effectively in cosplay. Not the most tasteful theme but really no one cares. They're a small and obscure bunch on the fringe that people tend not to pay much attention to nor heed. You have eccentrics and oddballs everywhere. Some people might go take a look at the freak-show for curiosity or amusement normally but when it comes down to it then it's just one of those things that really isn't interesting nor particularly relevant.
The real narrative:
There aren't many freaks on the right side of the political spectrum, the ones that are there tends to be far more restrained and are a tiny minority even among freaks. On the left side of the political spectrum on the other hand they have an abundance of freaks who turned up to opposed the rally and that attacked it violently. People forget the footage of the time. Despite the members of the rally being armed to the teeth they showed considerable restraint.
There's also a simple reason why you have more freaks on the left. They're far more permissive of being a freak with the only thing overriding that being their political taboos. In fact apart from that being a freak and breaking all the taboos is celebrated, worshipped and encouraged. On the left the more fanatical you are politically the better as well so it's really manufacturing freaks both in the sense of deviancy and political zeal (bigotry).
In one incident, a mentally ill member of the group trying to get to the rally presumably inadvertently went through a gap in the perimeter where the roads were closed and ended up caught on the outskirts of the crowd. We saw from footage at the time he was trying to get around them but they were also surrounding the rally making it difficult for him to navigate to where he wanted to go. He was clearly avoiding hitting anyone in his car but also clearly annoyed that they weren't getting out of the way either where there weren't that many of them (they were deliberately blocking his passage).
Instead of getting out of the way they surrounded the car and started to attack it. At that point he seems to have lost it and just hit the peddle.
From the footage at the time this is all I remember happening. It might be distasteful but the neonazis or whatever they were really didn't do anything wrong other than this one unfortunately incident and that wasn't unilateral but rather predicated by the aggression of the crowd that had turned up to gang up on and attack a minority through outnumbering it and exhibiting a more determined use of force.
Were it not the hostility introduced from the left wing militant activists the situation would have been entirely calm and peaceful. The only party actively and deliberately with prior intent doing anything wrong were the left wing activists who had turned up to take every possible effort they could to suppress a minority's protected rights.
The minority was there to rally or perform a demonstration. The majority not there to perform a counter demonstration. They were there to demolish the demonstration. This included the deliberate strategy of obstructing the demonstration so people couldn't get to it.
This false reciprocation and false equivalent is typical of the left. In a normal given scenario you might say I think A and your opponent might say I think B. What we see on the left is that if you say I think A they will turn around and say you cannot think A. This situation was much the say. It was not the minority saying A and the majority saying B instead. They were there to oppose the right to say A in the first place.

The left’s greatest trick is blaming conservatives for what they are currently doing. The right still hasn’t figured out how to counter this.
As long as they have practically all of the media outlets this will continue.
Eww, this is so old and fake news.
Why don’t they cover the riots last week, how about a few nights ago in LA??
