She is a total fucking psychopath. You can see it in her face. The unhinged grin, the eyes daring anyone to challenge her power.

I don't understand how people like this get elected. We live in an age of broadband insta-access to terabytes of HD visual information. How does someone who looks like her get elected? Her face immediately sets off all kinds of sixth sense warnings and cringe.

We even have a popular fictional representation of her--she's literally Dolores Umbridge.

Why are people so fucking dumb?

Normies who "check out" during midterms because they figure "we got the president we like, everything's fine". Stuff like that allows cheating to be more effective.

Granted, I don't think, given our situation, that this will be an issue for the next few decades. The happenings of 2020 have woken a lot of folks up. I'm hoping (praying) that a lesson was learned with the last one. I'm also hoping that some sort of universal voter I.D. requirement is the first order of business when this is all over.

aaafirefly123 10 points ago +10 / -0

I swear if it were up to normies we would just elect an all powerful dictator every 4 years if we could guarantee that said dictator would step down after 4 or 8 years

5
Kolob 5 points ago +5 / -0

Bwahahaha dictator step down, I like that

4
TotesNotKaren 4 points ago +4 / -0

Oh my glob, I swear that I actually heard that from a giant soy I used to work with. He was the ‘maybe we should have our baby in Canada so she gets citizenship’ type to escape the horrors of Trump.

Anti-gun, and thought that a dictator or monarchy wouldn’t be so bad if they were guaranteed to step down after their term. 🤦🏻‍♀️

3
aaafirefly123 3 points ago +3 / -0

The only way to ensure that is to plant a bomb in their neck with the threat that unless he steps down when his term is up, his life is forfeit.

But then again, what happens if said ruler removes the bomb.

5
Kolob 5 points ago +5 / -0

Voter ID and a saner Supreme Court are reasons we elected Trump and need 4 more years

Media, traditional media. We underestimate the power of news media in assigning opinions to us. Slow news days are just days the media doesn't have any opinions to push, not days where nothing happens.

6
_Cabal_ 6 points ago +6 / -0

They only continue to have power because of how fucking dumb people are.

9
Ravenant 9 points ago +9 / -0

The scary truth is a lot of people are in fact dumb. Nearly half are below average. ~50 million dummies is a real drag on society. The left caters to them, you're so smart, you're so progressive. Pats on head.

As we develop more technology we get a concentration of power. The left is using this concentration to push out-organizing us as we are individuals and don't make ten thousand new orgs a year.

They also have no scruples so sedition etc is fine with them as well.

8
_Cabal_ 8 points ago +8 / -0

I have a theory about this.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that our society is so advanced. We've crossed some threshold where our technology has overtaken natural selection processes, and it has happened so quickly we haven't really adapted to this new paradigm properly.

People live longer than they should. There's less risk. There's less danger.

More people can be artists and poets and musicians. But fewer people are capable of actually being independent, or producing things that survival requires.

We've become too tolerant, inclusive, and generous. Bad behaviors, dumb decisions, criminality, degeneracy, and weakness aren't punished like they used to be. People escape punishment from the natural world because our society has mitigated the consequences of the natural world against them through technology and wealth. And they escape punishment from society on account of how tolerant and feels-based we've become.

So, we don't discourage poor decisions and bad behavior nearly as much, and in fact we sort of end up subsidizing it. Survival of the fittest is all but lost. Mediocrity is rewarded. Incompetence flourishes.

The meme is real. Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.

2
Ravenant 2 points ago +2 / -0

Complete agreement. I'm personally torn. I am a senior dev and have been helping create tech, but I'm seeing the results absolutely crashing society, freedom and morality.

How do we recover and keep the tech? All tech concentrates power and that imbalance will always be exploited, as much as we wish it were otherwise the left are human and there's always people willing to do what they do.

The current system allows waay too much hiding space. I am cautiously optimistic about near term, though I think violence will be required to maintain what we currently have. On a longer term I don't see how we can be free with networked cameras everywhere.

The 5G causing covid story was to get out ahead of using 5G to saturate public spaces for "contact tracing". Now mention 5G anywhere in conjunction with covid and you're instantly a moron in the publics eyes.

The public is too easy to control.

2
JeremiahKassin 2 points ago +2 / -0

Three months. That's the threshold on change.

Societies are naturally resistant to change when something foreign is introduced, but after the three month threshold, it becomes the 'norm' for the majority.

Once that critical period has passed, a large enough portion of the society will now fight to keep the change.

Once the masking orders are removed, we will still see people wearing masks every year during flu season. We will see campaigns and organizing to bring masking orders back, we will see politicians successfully campaigning on making masking a requirement during flu seasons, and making not wearing a mask when you are sick a punishable offence. We'll see 'spreading rumors' or 'fake news' about a 'health crisis' pushed as punishable offenses, and legal right to fire over employees openly disagreeing with masking or vax laws.

And I'm just listing off exactly how it happened in China, and what's currently happening in Europe.

All lockdowns and mask orders could end tomorrow and it will still take years to return to pre-covid levels of tourism and outdoor gatherings (though it will be nice that all the tourists and outdoor gatherings will most likely lean conservative for a long time).

7
Two_Scoops__ 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's interesting. I'm in Michigan in a relatively red suburb and I noticed back in June about 40% of the people at grocery stores weren't wearing masks. Then she did the new mask mandate in July and now it's damn near 100% wearing masks (except me). So yeah I think you are right. Once we had the mandate long enough people just accepted it. But I disagree with your assessment that it could take years to undo this. I think once we reach a certain threshold of non-maskers (Say 20%) in grocery stores, it will make more people start taking them off as well. We're not China where they literally have no rights.

5
Isolated_Patriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

Oh I don't dissagree with you that the chain effect will happen fast, but I think that 40% or so will cling to the saftey net and will cling hard.

They will wear the masks anyway, they won't go on vacations or travel, they won't go to the movie theater, and while they would eventually take the mask off, I think we are going to see maskers every winter now. If they are this afraid of corona just wait till they find out how deadly the flu virus that they've been ignoring most of their lives is!

Things just won't get back to pre-covid levels for a year or more. Not to say that many, or even most, won't be back to normal as soon as they are allowed, but that the full effects of this are going to take a long time to un-condition people.

7
Two_Scoops__ 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yeah I will say I was very disappointed that those 40% disappeared overnight. What the fuck happened? Did they all stop going to the stores because they'd rather not go than put a mask on? Or did they give in and put the mask on? I still have yet to wear a mask at any grocery store or big box store and even most places in general. I get so fucking pissed off about it that I have run out of any fucks to give.

5
Isolated_Patriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

Did they all stop going to the stores because they'd rather not go than put a mask on?

That could be me. I haven't stepped foot in any place that required masking at the door. The only place I shop is the one place that never even asked me to put one on. And even then, I make it a bi-weekly affair now.

I've put off buying or ordered online where necessary as well.

2
Two_Scoops__ 2 points ago +2 / -0

I understand but for me, I'd rather make an appearance at the stores once in awhile to show the rest of the sheep that it's possible to disobey the order. In fact, one time I was shopping and this lady turned to me and asked if we were allowed to take our mask off. She saw I didn't have one on and asked if I was harassed about it. I told her no I wasn't and carried on (I thought she was a pro-masker about to harass me) and then I looked back and she had taken her mask off! So it's things like that which give me hope that me being there it shines a beacon of hope for other people like that lady.

“All lockdowns and mask orders could end tomorrow and it will still take years to return to pre-covid levels of tourism and outdoor gatherings...”. I agree. Never underestimate the power of fear as a restrictor on your activities.

But here’s the thing: remember the 2007-08 financial/housing crisis and how they said it would take 10yrs for the real estate market to return to normal? Well, it DID take a lot of years, depending upon where you were living BUT THERE WAS NO FEAR FACTOR AS AN INHIBITER. And now this whole fake covid lockdown has has the same devestating financial impact on millions of people, mainly the low-skilled who can’t work from home, and the small businesses who hire them and live on small profit margins and have invested their life savings in the future of their small business which is all up in smoke now etc etc PLUS NOW ADD IN THE FEAR FACTOR of going out to public events and socializing at events like parades, art fairs and other summer festivals, eating out, going to the movies etc and people are still gonna self-isolate because they have been forced to develop these new habits and ways of going about their daily lives by staying home more.

Plus everybody is getting older and now this will be two yrs out of our lives. It is not going to be worth the time and investment and physical/mental energy necessary to rebuild for us older entrepreneurs.

1
Leucophylla12 1 point ago +1 / -0

Frankly I don’t care what cucks decide to continue to do after the orders are lifted. The important thing is they are lifted and the government doesn’t have the auctoritas to reimplement them. I know plenty of people chomping at the bit to get back to sporting events, concerts, bars, restaurants and normal life

1
DebbieinDallas 1 point ago +1 / -0

If government policy became store policy, and the stores are afraid of getting sued for removing their mask requirement, then there is no end to lockdown or masks

Robert Gordon serves as the director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service.

Not even elected, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appointed him to the position effective Jan. 14, 2019.

Prior to joining the College Board, Director Gordon served in the U.S. Department of Education as acting assistant secretary at the Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development. He spent four years at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget

He has been described as the quarterback for President Barack Obama administration’s evidence-based policymaking initiatives, which closely tied program funding to quality evaluation.

Of the 7,163 current deaths, 5,253 can be tied to 3 counties on the East side. Wayne, Macomb and Oakland. That is 3 out of 83 total counties. 73% coming out of 3 counties. A leader would have shut down the infected counties instead of making a blanket decision for the entire state. But of course she didn't want to upset her base. The MF'ing East side is the reason she's in orifice.

She did ease restrictions...in the area she had a vacation house.

Her husband pulled a “don’t you know who I am” to a boat storage company to have a boat put in after winter when they were trying to have a graduation party. She playfully said she had no idea when called out for it.

Except now instead of issuing her dictatorial orders herself, the Michigan Dept of Health and Human Services is issuing them. And to top it off, the new order issued by MDHHS director Robert Gordon, deputizes law enforcement as "department representatives" so they can issue fines and arrest people who defy the order.
