Oh I don't dissagree with you that the chain effect will happen fast, but I think that 40% or so will cling to the saftey net and will cling hard.

They will wear the masks anyway, they won't go on vacations or travel, they won't go to the movie theater, and while they would eventually take the mask off, I think we are going to see maskers every winter now. If they are this afraid of corona just wait till they find out how deadly the flu virus that they've been ignoring most of their lives is!

Things just won't get back to pre-covid levels for a year or more. Not to say that many, or even most, won't be back to normal as soon as they are allowed, but that the full effects of this are going to take a long time to un-condition people.

Yeah I will say I was very disappointed that those 40% disappeared overnight. What the fuck happened? Did they all stop going to the stores because they'd rather not go than put a mask on? Or did they give in and put the mask on? I still have yet to wear a mask at any grocery store or big box store and even most places in general. I get so fucking pissed off about it that I have run out of any fucks to give.

That could be me. I haven't stepped foot in any place that required masking at the door. The only place I shop is the one place that never even asked me to put one on. And even then, I make it a bi-weekly affair now.

I've put off buying or ordered online where necessary as well.

I understand but for me, I'd rather make an appearance at the stores once in awhile to show the rest of the sheep that it's possible to disobey the order. In fact, one time I was shopping and this lady turned to me and asked if we were allowed to take our mask off. She saw I didn't have one on and asked if I was harassed about it. I told her no I wasn't and carried on (I thought she was a pro-masker about to harass me) and then I looked back and she had taken her mask off! So it's things like that which give me hope that me being there it shines a beacon of hope for other people like that lady.
