Southern California will most likely go red but its also well known to Californians that Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Orange County are more conservative. Its why most people there were excited about breaking up the state as it force LA out and makes them deal with their own mess.
The gerrymandering plan was to stuff LAST, SF, and San Diego into each new California. That would net them 6 blue senators. Fuck the plan to break up California unless they put the coastal elites into a single California to rot.
One of the plans I saw had San Diego, OC, the IE, and the spine of California up to Fresno as a state with LA specifically carved out up to San Jose. At least thats how I remember seeing it.
