Jews of today wouldn't recognize Jews of Biblical times as real Jews.

See in those days Judaism was open enough to the idea of a Messiah walking in and calling himself the Messiah to the point that when it finally did happen a lot of them recognized it and went along with it.

Today that wouldn't happen.
