I remember the day of my "radicalization" I was talking about religion being bad and going through my edgy atheist teen phase. Then I said and I remember the exact words. "Christianity might have some dumb stuff in it but holy shit have you read the Quran?

That's some truly barbaric shit!" and the response I got was "That's racist. How could you say something like that." and I just couldn't believe that a bunch of people who claimed they did not believe in religion would special plead for a savage dessert death cult.

And then it clicked. These people just hate the West. They just hate everything that helped create it. They will defend anything that can destabilize it. They weren't atheists. They were anti-Christianity. They just wanted the Western belief structure weakened so that the Eastern desert voodoo could come in and supplant it.
