Gillette was also a Utopian Socialist. He published a book titled The Human Drift (1894) which advocated that all industry should be taken over by a single corporation owned by the public, and that everyone in the US should live in a giant city called Metropolis powered by Niagara Falls. A later book, World Corporation (1910) was a prospectus for a company set up to create this vision. He offered Theodore Roosevelt the presidency of the company, with a fee of one million dollars. (Roosevelt declined the offer.) Gillette's last book, The People's Corporation (1924), was written with Upton Sinclair and later inspired Glen H. Taylor. Gillette was initiated to the York Rite of Freemasonry, till his elevation to the highest degree of Grand Master.

Yikes! A while back there was a discussion about how to shave and not support Gillette. Because of what I learned on that thread, I now use a safety blade and I love it. You have other options

Now that I learned how to shave with a safety blade my next move will be move into a straight blade. Once I use up my razors, which are cheap and last forever (I’m female and only shave my legs once a week).

You’re going to cut yourself learning, but once you get it down it’s so much better. Also, using a single blade actually has made my hair more fine, so there’s that to look forward to also.

There’s YouTube videos on how to shave with a straight blade and also videos on how to lather shaving cream. Look up some of those and you’ll be set.

I buy my stuff at Maggard Razors. Again, another Pede recommended it and I tried it and ordered from there and I love it. Good luck!

The safety razor is great. Also, if you absolutely NEED a cartridge razor you can go Dorco which is a south korean company. I would rather buy from South Korea than cucked US.

I dropped Gillette, and the funny thing is I went with a 50+ year old Gillette adjustable safety razor to replace them. And when choosing blades, I make sure they are NOT from a Gillette owned or controlled company. (Gillette is literally everywhere in the shaving market, so you have to be careful with your dollars.)

For shave cream I like Barbasol (and I just ordered the new Barbasol 1919 cream) and Taylor of Old Bond Street.

Fuck Gillette.

Nice. I use Taylor of Old Bond Street too. Lavender is my favorite.

Dollar Shave is out. Harry's is out. Is Dorco still ok? What about Schick?

To my knowledge Dorco is South Korean and has (shockingly) decided to stay the fuck out of sexist, trans-endorsing advertisements so they are good in my book.

Donated $100,000 to the terrorist organization known as BLM. They also put out a statement cucking to BLM big time and dropped a few sponsorships for people who weren't being woke enough.

My thoughts exactly. I don't ask my front end alignment specialist about a pain in my chest while he's got my Ford on the rack. I don't go to my pastor to seek out real estate investment advice. And I damn sure don't ask a razor subscription company about social issues.

Barbasol is the USA way to go, but they are spendy. Have a safety blade, but was never too fond of it. Found a china company selling the unbranded Gillette razors (sensor excel), and got 100 from them for $8. Going to use those up, and then try a straight razor.

yeah, but it came out of their warehouse in Jersey City so..... For $8!! and gillette gets nothing!!

Dollar shave was/is just reselling Dorco blades. Most shave 'clubs' are just reselling Dorco blades as well.

They sold out years ago and are now owned by Unilever, a European conglomerate.

They were the first to cuck out several years ago.

Their product blows goats anyway. Worst razor I ever used.

I love that he writes "causally" instead of "casually". That is not a typo. That is brilliant subtlety.

Once again, second hand safety razor handle (especially if you can get a good deal on a Gillette fat boy but I use a simple Gillette travel handle). Super easy to find online and in antique stores. Buy Feather razors online if you have no experience wet shaving. They are Japanese made and have been the best for my skin compared to other brands I’ve tried.

Get yourselves straight razors. There is a mild learning curve, nevertheless it's worth the efforts. 13 years for me.

That's a hot take. A beard isn't inherently Islamic unless you style it that way.

This post is not going to reach the pussies that need their shaving equipment prepackaged in a cute little box. Fags.

Anyone have a recommendation for inexpensive razors? I use one a week on my bald noggin; not about to take a straight razor to that.
