I wouldn't say he's a hero. However unless there is more evidence brought to light regarding their former association, that proves otherwise. He is innocent and should never have been detained.
Let's not go too far - Chauvin had a checkered past on the force and even if Floyd was destined to die from overdosing, Chauvin shouldn't have had his knee on his neck - that was just unnecessary.

If you look at his prior history, he's another punk cop that got off on abusing his power. He would be the first in line to tase someone for not wearing a mask in public.
