Sort of, but I don't see it that way. Men were men, women were women, the ship was mostly a military/exploration vessel. What small hints of government we were shown seemed democratic to a point but mostly under a sort of military jurisdiction. The few politicians we see are often portrayed as naive and inefficient. Think of the hippie episode. The hippies were shown to be insulting, arrogant and misguided. Even led by one of their professors. Much like modern lefties and they were shown to be ignorant on many levels.
