No they can’t. Stop spreading misinformation. Here’s a good resource about mask mandates.

Private businesses can’t tell you not to carry a fire arm, but if they ask you to leave because you won’t put it up and they call the cops, they have you for trespassing. A store can’t enforce masks, but they can ask you to leave.

They have to make reasonable accommodations for their customers who choose not to wear a mask or it’s harassment. Yes harassment. Can they make a policy to require you to wear a hijab for entry? A belt buckle? A hat? Take your pick. There is no LAW to wear a mask. Look up the difference between mandates, regulations, and laws. No single person/governor can make law. Only a governing body/legislature. Denying entry to an establishment that is open to the public can be considered false imprisonment. I have been researching CA law and am beginning to understand how the laws actually work. Shit your mouth if you haven’t done the same for wherever you are. Visit... https://www.thehealthyamerican.org/ it’s the entryway to understanding. Once you understand your rights and the law you will be asking the store to call the cops for you. Use them to make a citizen’s if you want. At the very least use the cops to make your discrimination report a formal record. Learn truth before you regurgitate what you heard from from some other ignorant fool.

I live in a very pro 2A state where businesses can still deny access if you carry a firearm. I’m just pointing out, unless you are willing to go to court to fight it, they can AND WILL do whatever the hell the feel like because they know most people would rather comply for convenience than have to go somewhere else.

That’s a fair statement. I see what you’re getting at. I’m tempted to call that an extreme example as guns and courts never seem to mix well and thing may have a bigger chance of going south but the level of this virus hysteria, sadly, seems to match gum hysteria.

The same way you say you shouldn't be able to force people not to wear a mask. Leave it up to the damn customer. The government ending the mandate is no good if businesses continue to require it.

1
TrollToll 1 point ago +1 / -0

although I do agree that's how it should be, isn't there a legal precident already set with "No shoes, no shirt, no service" and dress codes?

3
JoePCool14 3 points ago +3 / -0

Technically yes. But fuck it, this is a case where the government should put their foot down; masks are nothing more than useless, fake tools of fear and shame. If the left wants to play dirty, well we should too. Mandatory masking should be banned. It should be a personal choice of individuals. If an employer wants to mandate their employees wear one while working, that's a separate issue.

LeftistsAreInsane 4 points ago +5 / -1

No. He could issue orders similar to Ron DeSantis by prohibiting localities from enforcing mask fines. He also go one step further by declaring that local mask requirements issued in contradiction to his order are null and void. It doesn't directly affect the stores, but it achieves the desired goal.

Well that's good to hear, but didn't they issue some sort of mask mandates? Did they do this with no enforcement mechanism whatsoever?

I think, basically yes. I haven't worn a mask anywhere in my town and, while I see people here and there wearing masks, no one has ever said anything to me. I did go somewhere in Ft Worth where the people were good and brainwashed and they asked if I had a mask. I simply said I can't wear a mask with no other explanation and they didn't persue it.

Texans should vote him out in the next election then.

tdwinner2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

Against in the primary, hold your nose in the general if he gets there. Fucking Abbott.

I got to see Noem speak recently. She's the only governor of FIFTY who asked what she could and could not do constitutionally, then did what she could and didn't do what she couldn't. Noem for POTUS 2024, and since De Santis learned the lesson and has been very based since, I want a ticket with both of them. I'll also take Allen West and Rich Grennell on a ticket. I'll consider Kemper as well, and maybe one or two others. Ours is a deep bench, but still, only ONE governor did it right from the start, wtf.

I frequent that Buccee's in Denton multiple times a week and haven't worn a mask there since July. They are cool there. Also, Denton county sheriff and PDs in the area have announced that they will not enforce the illegal mask mandate.

Covfefeandcake 13 points ago +13 / -0

I guess it’s this...

Opening bars and similar establishments to 50% capacity in regions with low #COVID19 hospitalizations. ‪Beginning October 14th, County Judges can opt their county into these openings provided they assist in enforcing health protocols. Additionally, businesses like amusement parks, movie theaters, zoos, aquariums, and bowling alleys can expand to 75% capacity in counties with low #COVID19 hospitalizations ‪beginning October 12th. Texans have shown that we can contain the spread of #COVID19 by following health protocols and guidelines. Our state is prepared for these additional openings, but we all must remain vigilant and show personal responsibility to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

How does this affect private businesses? Any FL pedes that can tell us whether the grocery stores or walmarts have changed policies?

The_1776 5 points ago +6 / -1

Womp womp Abbott still sucks. I was willing to settle for an admission of fault and 100% endorsement of freedom. Compared to Desantis, he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Pun intended. Because fuck Abbott.

I live in a real red state, work in Texas. They ask when I'm coming (used to be every other week). I reply when I can go into the office without a mask and maintaining 6' distance. Abbott is a letdown, screw Texas. They used to be cool, now they're afraid.

"bars can reopen next week at 50% capacity if counties opt in"

If counties opt-in?!

Abbott, WTF, you piece of trash dictator wannabe. Call an emergency session of the legislature of BTFO.

Where's one solitary single freaking judge to say that governors cannot rule alone?? Ah, right, they've ruled that in Wisconsin and Michingan. But we need this nationwide. We need the SCOTUS. We need ACB. We need ACB not to cuck-out.

His base is killing him in the comments.

2
tdwinner2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

By now he knows he's toast at the next election. If he stands it's as one last fuck you to Texas and his voters. Since that's all he's got for us, I think that's what he'll do. But he should retire instead.
