Patsy Mink died in Hawaii about a month before the election. It wasn't enough time to get her off the ballot back then. Maybe now would be faster. So she was on the ballot, and despite a sign that announced her death at the polling places, she won in a landslide. Since she couldn't do the job from the grave (unlike Nadler and Schiff... /s) Ed Case took her place.

I liked her. She was a go-getter. Mazie Hirono fantasizes that she's like Patsy, but I think Patsy would have been disgusted with Mazie's performance and may have secretly supported Trump.

The thing I remember most about her is that she looked like a Japanese Betty Boop.
