The fact that lawyers act like they are part of some kind of unbiased profession is simply a lie they tell themselves to feel better. There might be some objective truth in legal documents but lawyers will ignore that as they see fit.
Reminds me of China - supposedly the law is actually pretty clear and somewhat reasonable. But in practice the Chinese can just ignore it and have total power.
