The fact that this person is bringing up "proud boys" or "white nationalism" in response to something that has literally nothing to do with either of the two is very telling of what kind of people lefties are. They seek to create distraction and chaos through manufactured outrage. Then when evidence comes out that doesn't lean in their favor they do anything they can to keep the wool over the sheep's eyes.
Rather than admit they were wrong and learn from their mistakes they save their precious soft feelings by pulling out the whataboutism and deflecting. If they did anything else they would be well on their way away from the left.
The problem with the left, is they are just deranged partisans. They don't care how corrupt barrack Obama was in spying on the Trump Campaign, and then organizing a coup. In their mind he was doing the right thing anyway. So, its tough. You can't beat them with logic saying the law is the law. They dont respect the law.

The engagement needs to be public, open, broad, and documented. They need to change the narrative. If you don’t like what is said, create something totally different.
Throw a kids festival in an area with underprivileged kids (one that has equal demographics) bouncy houses and shit. Something for the community, a parent can’t say no to a kid that sees bouncy houses and fun stuff. They’ll go, reluctantly, but they’ll go. I would do something, sponsor an event for youth who are troubled...the options are endless.
Also, fucking sue. Lawsuits are like magic. Expensive though.
