And literally nobody gave a shit about the swine flu in 2012 other than hypochondriacs. I actually knew about 3 people who had swine flu and it was unpleasant but hardly worth worrying about. Just like the Kung Flu.
I was just talking about this with my sister, who's a nurse. The swine flu was terrible. While some people turned it into a joke or a meme, we had neighbors and close friends and/or their family members catch it. It was brutal. Some were hospitalized, at least two of those people died.
I know more people who have had swine flu than people who caught the coof. Only 1 person, a worker in the company I am employed at, actually got the coof and passed away after suffering complications due to the coof. Said worker had many other illnesses and was already not working before the coof rage because of worsening conditions, so her death wasn't expected, but it made sense after contracting the coof in a hospital.
That's the huge difference between wuflu and swine flu. Swineflu was a legitimate danger to young children, where young children are basically immune from wuflu.
I'm finally a mere Kevin Bacon away from someone who tested positive. (This whole time I've been saying that I personally know more people treated with shock therapy than have caught the Rona, and I wasn't kidding.)
According to those who know him, he had a sore throat for a few days then got better.
... I am so goddamn disappointed by this humanity-ending plague. I was promised death rates of 1-5% of the whole population and all we got was a mild cold.
I literally can not catch the Kung Flu. I've tried. I've gone out, I rip of my muzzle as soon as I don't have to wear it.... I mean, I want my $400/mo for donating antibody plasma, dammit! That's a car payment!
Same situation. The people who I heard (friends of friends) that got tested positive for the coof barely had the sniffles or just 2 days of being in bed from low energy, and that was it. I am disappointed that I am not seeing dead bodies littered on the streets like was predicted.
Exactly, I have been saying this same thing for awhile.

It really hit my 8 year old daughter hard. She had to miss a ton of school and my mom and her quarantined with each other. I NEVER blamed Obama.
