I've spoken publicly many times and yes it's terrifying before you go on stage, but when I'm up there, I'm so in the moment that I am completely calm. It's only hard when you're putting on an act.
Not to play devil's advocate, but stage fright is a very real phenomenon that I have personally experienced. I was absolutely right in my psychology presentation, but sounded like an adolescent trying to present it.
Politics is theater. Politicians should not be afraid of the stage. I understand that it's a real thing. I'm not saying it's not. Leaders can't be afraid of that though.
