I left baseball when they cucked out. I wrote mlb a long email about how I just wanted to watch baseball to escape from reality for two hours each night, but when they injected politics into it, it wasn't an escape anymore, so they should get bent.
Later, after thinking about it some more, in baseball's good times I had actually liked seeing all the players stand for the flag, sing the national anthem, and play America's pastime, players from everywhere, and from all walks of life. It was patriotic.
Bottom line: if baseball came back as a patriotic sport, I might watch it again. Am I crazy?

First was the steroids issues, then huge contracts and high prices for everything, then rules to help make sports scoring marathons, then taxing us for brand new stadiums with corporate welfare luxury sky boxes, now leftist politics invading was the last straw for me. How much did they expect us to take? I'll take my son, fishing, hunting, biking, swimming, hiking, gaming, grilling/smoking food, there are many better lessons and fun things to do. Count me out of professional sporting events forever.
It's a fun game to play but kinda boring on TV or just watching in general. They are scoring all the time, so a good hustle and drive means nothing. They are getting baskets dozens of times a game. If you left the room and missed a score in football or hockey you'd be upset. Basketball? Don't care. Baseball? Hate to disrespect our national game but that's best enjoyed reading about it in a newspaper.
That's actually a really interesting observation. Baseball grew to prominence when newspapers was how you'd find out about things like sporting events. It wasn't really till we had TV that sports like basketball and football took off nationally.
Why would companies be dissuaded when they see that they can push this garbage and get fans back after? NBA/NFL/companies need to pay so dearly that no other organization ever THINKS about pulling this bullshit again. Bring back the XFL and any other competitors.
Exactly. And even to folks who care about it - we won't be losing basketball or football. In a capitalist society, there is always another company ready to capitalize on another's mistake. And you better believe they wouldn't make that same mistake.

A friend told me yesterday that the first game of this year's Finals clocked ~33% of the viewership that they achieved for their WORST Finals in modern history. They are in a panic and should be!
Ok. Good first step. But since I know how everyone in that league feels already, fire everyone, top to bottom and start over. Then Ill think about watching again.
My dream scenario: League crashes and burns. Alive, but extremely in debt. Brought to the brink of complete collapse and dissolution. Silver, Lebron and his merry band of woke faggots who caused this retire. New talent emerge. The next Bird, Magic, Jordan, etc. brings back the NBA and ushers in a new golden era and leaves that woke bullshit behind. Thats when fans will return.
They went out basically saying,
"We know you all agree with us on supporting SJWs and racist causes, but we'll change this one thing and not have it in public. Then we can keep supporting the exact same thing, and you'll give us all your money again!"
I can enjoy watching local teams or friends play. It's not at the same high level of skill, but they're there to play the damn game without acting high and mighty.
