Currently every debate is leftist talking point/loaded questions. EVERY SINGLE QUESTION IS LIKE THIS. A fucking accusatory 2 minute speech followed by a question. And then if any lively debate starts to happen, it gets shut down! Fuck this, these are not even debates, they are show trials for the republican every time.

They always save the worst attacks for the 'rebuttal' and then deprive the republican of a chance to respond, leaving them no choice but to "talk over" and get called out by the moderator. I've always hated the one response/one rebuttal format for that reason.
It should be some kind of last word format, candidates always have the option of a rebuttal, maybe with diminishing time. First round of rebuttal is 2 min, second is 1:30, and so on. If it devolves to a cat fight, so what? The purpose of the debate is to see both the policies and the character of the candidates.
