Rogan is a douche now. He used to be good but had to sell out to keep his casts on the air.

He went mainstream just to make money

Ez_mac 268 points ago +272 / -4

He’s always been a fence sitter tbh. He’ll gladly talk moon landing conspiracies or something and then when he has an “expert” guest on its like he’s totally changed.

Haven’t listened in a while, but I’m guessing it’s still entertaining. Bring back Alex Jones and Eddie Bravo!

hondo1 160 points ago +162 / -2

Yeah, man, the dude is a chameleon and he's just after views and money. Eddie, on the other hand, is hillarious and entertaining.

20

He’s not legit, but he’s a good interviewer. He does create an entertaining show even out of boring topics.

18
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 18 points ago +21 / -3

People are sheepish, tbh.

17
LibertyPrimeWasRight 17 points ago +17 / -0

He's much more willing to talk about people and topics that the MSM won't touch—Tim Pool, Alex Jones, Twitter bans, etc.—so he looks legit when you judge by that. But if you pay attention to the content of his show, it's a lot of fence sitting. Like when he had Tim Pool on about Twitter bias with Jack Dorsey and that other woman (I think she's Twitter's legal counsel or something).

She kept talking in circles and he never called her on it. Plus, as other people have pointed out/memed on in the comments, he does a lot of "both sides have a point" and "well, I wouldn't want to claim expertise" no matter how clear something is. It's practically at the level where you could tell him "drinking water is good" and he'd say "there are lots of good drinks."

Don't get me wrong, it's admirable that he tries to stay neutral as a host, and it is important to let your guests talk. But I don't think he gets the balance quite right.

6

The fact he's an influential comedian who signed a 100 million dollar deal is more damning than that.

9

3
sadKEK 3 points ago +3 / -0

He did mention their concentration camp on the podcast before the switch so if he tried that now it's a dead give away. I think that clip was just him trying to be funny but if it worked he'd take the money lol. Also lying about aliens MIGHT mean you'd lie about whatever you're told but it's also lying about aliens. Those in the media complicit to framing our President did far worse for WAY less.

2
itsgoofytime69 2 points ago +2 / -0

I could give a fuck. Rogan is trying to stunt, talk about the greenhouse effect.

At least Ye is real about it. I'm gonna make money from what I know, then I'm gonna talk my stuff. He can create a platform. Joe's life is the platform he created

CmonPeopleGetReal 16 points ago +16 / -0

TBH to get compelling interviews out of your guest you have to be willing to walk their path, at least be on middle ground. His style is not a confrontation, it's about getting content out of the guest.

That being said, post spotify he has had his dick slapped, and is being a little bitch.

9
stonetears4fears 9 points ago +9 / -0

Agreed on both points. I’ve noticed how he’ll agree with someone in one podcast but in a “okay keep talking but you’re crazy” way and then will throw that person under the bus in another podcast. I haven’t listed to much post-Spotify but it’s different

7
Grilledpepe 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yeah he has the same opinion of everyone he has on his show. That's pretty much his brand. The goal is to get the true positions of the people he has on

9
xcvi 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's also rude to ask someone to come on and then clown them. He's too polite to do that unless the guest goes off the rails. And even then he usually politely asks questions (Adam Conover humiliating trans discussion).

The Alex Jones one was amazing. I dont care what people say about him he is entertaining as all fuck. Bravo too. Just good conversation and outlandish stories.

Rogan sits on the fence and his conversation style is prob ok for this kind of stuff. He will say... I dont really know about that BUT...

He has sold out to left wing media to keep on the air. We all know if you dont tow the line on left wing social media you get vanished.

He is trying to keep his income

20
Gabbs1212 20 points ago +25 / -5

To keep on the air? Dude is the biggest, by far, podcaster in the world. Its not even close. Its estimated he gets 20 million downloads a month. BEFORE Spotify. He could self fund his own...everything....before spotify overpaid him.

6
richgoose 6 points ago +6 / -0

A) you argue above that Joe made enough money to do his own platform and doesn't have to tie on to any platform. now you say well he got money and I would have taken it. you were talking out of both sides of your mouth, either he has the money to stand on his own platform to avoid censorship or he needed money so bad he took the Spotify in spite of the fact that they are censoring him.

B) I haven't been to Spotify to check but every article I've read and I've stayed up on it cuz this is a key issue for me, the episodes with Stephen molyneux Alex Jones Milo etc are not and have not ever been posted.

Rogan cant do that.

11
FlimboFlongins 11 points ago +20 / -9

He's making a Sweeping Generalization, but the psychoactive drugs are all over the place in some religious origins. That's archeological, anthropological, scientific and historic fact at this point.

As an example: https://psychedelicgospels.com/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tAWr1t3pjc John Allegro’s “The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross” (feat. Terence Mckenna)

Sacred Mushroom: A Lost History (FULL DOCUMENTARY) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mUJr2iLMB4

The Origins of Religion: as Reference to Sacred (Psilocybin) Mushrooms. By Reverend Nicklas B. Failla 3rdEd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP3KLK0cPCI

If you're studying Anthropology, Ethno-Botany, and Comparative Religious Studies, these scientific and historical facts are unavoidable.

British Llama Mike Crowley of the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition on "The Secret Drugs of Buddhism": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpZNPWs5cV0

The Ancient Hebrew Anointing Oil (Christos is a Greek Title, meaning "Anointed One"), has been show by Israeli Scientists repeatedly to have contained large amounts of psychoactive cannabis alkaloids. The recipe is literally Biblical in Origin.

https://www.cannabisculture.com/content/2020/05/29/ancient-judaic-use-of-cannabis-for-shamanic-ecstasy-verified-by-archeological-evidence/

Cannabis: A Lost History (FULL DOCUMENTARY) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2p6qFT_Zjg

The evidence is simply overwhelming.

This is not an advocacy, but one must give credit where credit is due. Psychoactive Drugs irrefutably play a role in the origins of the world's Major Religions, and many, many cults. The suppression of this information by say The Roman Catholic Church, and Sects of Christianity, along with Rabbinical Judaism, as examples, have been relentless.

Even many here today, reading this, would chose to suppress the information if they could because it conflicts with, or threatens their world view. But thankfully, the Scientific Community continues to discover more evidence as to these realities with each passing year.

Enjoy the Deep Dive for those who chose to. Courtesy of The Based Hobbit!

Edit: Note the several Down Toots. These are the same types of minds that would have burned those who possessed this knowledge at the stake. Also drowned, hung, shot, and visited the Horrors of The Inquisition, along with all manner of tortures, all for knowledge of psychopharmacology, and choosing what some perceive as Gnosis with their Creator, through Ecstatic States. Quite telling, the Religious Zealotry, even across time.

So important was this understanding of induced Ecstatic States, the in was Enshrined by the Founders of America, who held the knowledge via their Free Masonic Initiations. Benjamin Franklin even designed a Medal, containing the Wisdom of Antiquity, as he saw it. https://realitysandwich.com/319569/magic-mushrooms-in-north-america-before-the-wassons/

You might want to take anything with John Allegro off the list. He went full retard and published the most embarrassing book of biblical scholarship ofthe 20th century.

Problem is, if you take Allegro out then the argument that Christianity started as a psychedelic drug cult goes with him.

1
Harambe 1 point ago +2 / -1

Thankfully, Stoned Ape Theory has nothing to do with any cult shit

-1
FlimboFlongins -1 points ago +3 / -4

Embarrassing how exactly, and for whom?

http://www.johnallegro.org/the-defamation-of-allegro-by-jan-irvin-excerpted-from-astrotheology-shamanism/

Beyond Allegro: There is a mountain of evidence for entheogenic mushrooms in Christianity, some of which was referenced in part, in the documentaries linked.

Academia at present does not share your opinions, at all. I'm afraid you've been left in the dustbin of history, old boi.

https://desertfathers.blogspot.com/2014/06/christianity-and-mushrooms_2.html

Mushrooms in Christian Art I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OP2cxtzKtI

Edit: Per Allegro's "Full Retard" which was him actually going against the ridiculous "Scholarship" of the Catholic Archdiocese in Jordan, under Rockefeller Control(Rockefeller Institute). For those unfamiliar, the otherScholars translating the Dead Sea Scrolls fragments, all of whom were Religious, would bring their translations to the Mon-Senior in charge, and he would inform them to change the translation if it conflicted with Catholic Doctrine, per the Orders from Rome.

Further, the scroll fragments were just stuffed in baskets, in non climate controlled facilities, and evident "Foot Dragging" on moving the translations forward at all. No efforts were being made to preserve the ancient scrolls against further degredations, and Allegro arrived at the conclusion that Rome had the hope that they would eventually degrade beyond recognition, thus eliminating any controversy with Church Doctrine.

Allegro was only on the project due to massive International Outcry, from the world academic community, as having the Roman Catholic Church, in charge of Ancient Jewish Writings, seemed ludicrious. Needless to say, Allegro was horrified, and refused to go along with the sham, as he was not religious, and GAVE ZERO FUCKS about Catholic Dogma. So he published his findings, despite Rome threatening to destroy his career.

For further defense of Allegro: The Holy Mushroom Evidence of Mushrooms in Judeo-Christianity: A critical re-evaluation of the schism between John M. Allegro and R. Gordon Wasson over the theory on the entheogenic origins of Christianity presented in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross by J.R. Irvin, © 2008. ISBN 13: 9781439215173 Published: October 2008 Library of Congress Control Number: 2008909509 With 38 colour, and 7 B&W plates

5
Burkean 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ahh, linking to Allegro hagiography to prove that he wasn't bonkers...are you not familiar with how you go about checking an academic source?

If you actually think "academia" is on board with this then I genuinely feel sorry for you.

0
FlimboFlongins 0 points ago +4 / -4

I am familiar with and have spent, and will continue to spend many hours of time on Lexis Nexis, and various Academic Portals.

You didn't cite a recent refutation of Allegro, at all. If one encounters Ethnobotany, and Entheobotany in even Undergrad Anthropology, Archaeology, Sociology, or Historic Psychopharmacology, especially within an Comparative Religions Context, it is a mainstream sense at this point, per the textbooks having to cover it, at least as a Theory.

This means you have far more than just Allegro's work to contend with, across a spectrum of Disciplines. The connections between Mithraism, and Christianity, at this point, both containing Astro-theological dying and resurrecting Solar Agricultural Deities, are unambiguous. In the case of Mithraism, you again for The Mushroom Cult. What exactly was/is your Academic Background?

1
Burkean 1 point ago +1 / -0

I knew astro-theology was coming (muh Acharya S!?!?!)...you get the final word here.

0
FlimboFlongins 0 points ago +4 / -4

Sorry, didn't catch your Academic Background?

I didn't cite her, but prior to the Council Of Nicea, many Christians didn't believe in the "Divinity" of Yeshua Ben Yoseph. They thought he was a man, and a teacher(Rabbi), but not a God/god. So when it was put to a vote, and the Losers lost, their Theology was scrubbed, their books destroyed, their teachings forbidden, and much was added to create the "Big Tent", for Political Purposes of Mind Control, which is essential to Government.

Govern-To Control.

Ment- The Mind.

This is the job of Priests, and Rulers, in any Civilization. Social Engineering.

The Cult of Mithras, became the Cult of Sol Invictus, which became the Roman Catholic Church. This is not contested by Secular Historians, and Archaeologists. This isn't some Great Secret, and at the core of all of it, is an Agrarian Civilization, managed by Priests(Smart Scholars), who are responsible for running the whole show.

Like the Pentagram being an Astronomical Representation of the Orbital Motion of Venus(Lucifer-Sun of The Morning, Herald of The Sun/ God), as observed by these Astronomer Priests, and creators of Calendars, much can be added by later, or competing groups, on top of Primary Religious Symbolism. Like all of the Solar Cult aspects added by the Cult of Sol Invictus(A Solar Cult), over the early stories of a Rebel Jew, in the Roman Province of Judea.

FlimboFlongins 4 points ago +5 / -1

The concept of a Creator doesn't seem to be in his lexicon. He says flat out that he's a meathead, and his appeal to authority is constant at this point. Although seemingly not a Higher Authority.

Thanks for acknowledging the post, it does take time and effort to relay. Hope it's useful in some capacity. If the premise is that we have a Creator, within this construct, all exists within the creation. Meaning everything has a purpose. Some have argued since recorded history that certain Sacraments were created for the purposes of Communion.

It does become annoying that a meat head like Joe is this large scale arbiter of discussion around these topics.

As I said, not an advocacy, as much as acknowledging the Historical Facts. We do need dialogue on it, over on the Political Right. Many, if not most chose to sweep it under the rug, so the Left just runs wild with it, and Degeneracy is clearly a part of the rift between the two sides.

That whole idea of reading books, instead of burning or suppressing them.

My Friend, I respect what you wrote, and that is exactly, precisely what I'm trying to convey. Vitally, per the need for open and honest discussion, lest the road to ruin be laid so openly at the feet of so many, with drug usage, as say Joe Rogan recklessly and stupidly advertises. Thank you for clarifying and expanding.

And it is precisely because of a Religious Background, and beginning to find oddities and idiosyncratic factoids with historic Drug Cults/ Religions, that it is a foregone conclusion that others will follow the same path, at least in the exploration of ideas. These ideas are openly thrown about, along with the Scientific and Historical Evidence in the University Environment. It must be understood that these Religious Sacraments were not used in recreational settings, as many of them(Like Mushrooms), were seasonal, and rare. They were ingested in ritual, and prayer, under specific conditions, with guidance from Wise Elders/ Priests. I won't belabor the point, but those historical realities must be integrated, and acknowledged.

The consequences of not doing so, create the legions of those who have been victimized, unknowingly damaging their psyches. In the case of a great many young people in the 1960's and 1970's, they destroyed their potential, and some have made the argument that this was by design. See Tavistock Institute, and the CIA being the largest single supplier of LSD-25 in the US for many years. Drug use can destroy Critical Thinking and Reasoning Faculties. Exactly what Internationalist/ Globalist Banker Overlords Love!!

I used to listen to one or two a week, now I may listen to one a month.

He used to have all these crazy people on, but I think he's found that fringe speakers get him a lot of flak, without any perceived upshot. What he's missing is the crazy guests are the reason he has so many listeners.

2
Gabbs1212 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't subscribe to his channel any more, otherwise my podcast list would have more listenable hours than there are in a day.

However, i check his guests once a week, and about twice a month i listen to one.

1
electioninfection 1 point ago +1 / -0

The percentage is worse than that, more like maybe one decent guest every two weeks. But given how many other Youtubes I tune in for, it's still more time than I have to listen while working or playing video games, so I usually save that for times when my favorite radio hosts are on vacation (like Christmas/New Years). I do love that he does a lot of non-PC stuff like having Leah Remini and Ron White on to discuss the scam that is Scientology.

Yeah, Rogan is an influential person in media, but why do we really care so much about him otherwise? If he says something we agree with, this site praises him. When he says something we disagree with, everyone jumps on the wagon to hate him. He at least gets a huge variety of ideas and backgrounds on his show, which can't be said much elsewhere.

Tulsi though is a total snake, and actively involved in the political arena and is deserving of much more scrutiny than a podcast host.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
-7
SpezIsANazisCumRag -7 points ago +3 / -10

That's not really the same thing. Tulsi may have disagreed with Trump but (as far as I know) hasn't attacked him and spewed vicious things about him like Joe has. Joe is also just an entertainer whereas Tulsi is a soldier and a Patriot even if she does have a D by her name. Tulsi is NOT a radical leftist and is basically an outcast because of her opposition to current democrat politics and policies. Based on what Tulsi's believes and how she behaves, I would say that Tulsi is basically a conservative and even though she is essentially just a Democrat In Name Only, I will continue to support and respect her because she has proper morals and values that she stands by unlike Joe Rogan. If the democrats were more like her, America would be a much better place.

Drugs are bad but we live in a free country and if someone wants to smoke weed, take LSD, or whatever kind of drug they should be free to do it. It’s time we stopped wasting our tax dollars to keep people from getting high.

2
PeytonManThing 2 points ago +2 / -0

No

0
PeytonManThing 0 points ago +1 / -1

It’s a free country. It’s time to stop spending resources fighting drunk driving. It’s a free country. It’s time we legalize PCP, and if they kill people while high we will deal with it after. It’s a free country. It’s time we legalize pedophilia/child porn. NO! Fuck off

0
Pilotmtb 0 points ago +1 / -1

It is a free country. Stop putting your morals ahead of other peoples decisions.

0
PeytonManThing 0 points ago +1 / -1

Never. I will never stop putting the good of the society ahead of indefensible personal choices. It’s stupid as fuck. Good luck finding a country that says things like drunk driving is fine. “Drunk driving doesn’t hurt anyone as long as you don’t get in a wreck! Personal choice! Freedom!” That’s the exact argument you’re making.

0
Pilotmtb 0 points ago +1 / -1

I don’t know where you have gotten that I am for drunk driving? My view has been and always will be if you are not harming anyone else you should be allowed to do it. Smoking weed in your own home? 100% for it. Tripping on LSD in your own home. 100% for it. Why on earth do you want the government telling people what they can and cannot consume?

And those choices are only indefensible to YOU. You may think going to church on Sunday is great but I think it does more harm than good. Should I advocate that you can’t go to church on Sunday because it’s against my personal beliefs?

Also if we are for reducing the power of the government and reducing spending why are you ok with spending more tax payer money and expanding the power of the government just to keep people from smoking weed in their own homes. It’s insanity. People will always consume drugs whether it’s alcohol, cannabis, psychedelics, or any other intoxicant. Thinking we can keep people from doing that by throwing money at it is insanity.

1
PeytonManThing 1 point ago +1 / -0

And FYI, you are SO bad at this. When you try to defend your position with “well what if I think that religion is as bad/worse than drugs for society.” Yeah. You literally just proved you’re a fucking moron, which only makes me more sure that I’m right and you actually aren’t even worth listening/talking to. And I’m an atheist. Your argument is just that bad. Objective reality does exist. Go fuck yourself

1
PeytonManThing 1 point ago +1 / -0

https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/DRRC.PDF

“Hey guys! Look at me! I’m a moron! Driving drunk should be legal, it’s only the wreck that should be a crime! Derp derp! I can’t possibly understand how we should be proactive and step in before it causes harm! Comfort of your own car! Durrrrr!” That’s fucking YOU! It’s literally the same concept. Most crime is committed by people who abuse drugs and alcohol, and most of that crime is actually CAUSED by the substance abuse! And that’s before even considering that drugs are horrible for your health. There’s a reason why this shit stays illegal. Because non-retards understand the obvious and are okay with being proactive.

Here’s a scenario for you: man does meth in the “comfort of his own home” another man offers him some coffee “in the comfort on his own home” drugged out man interprets offer of coffee as a threat to throw coffee in his face because he’s on drugs, drugged out man stabs coffee man to death. SPOILERS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. You know what would have been better? If druggy had never used drugs in the first place! And you know why that story isn’t more common? Because we limit access to drugs in the first place. We could and should do better. But again, see China for what happens when the government cannot intervene at all.

Here’s another one: man eats a fuck ton of magic mushrooms “in the comfort of his own home.” Man strips naked, walks out of his home, into his neighbors home, and into the room of their young daughter, traumatizing her. Spoilers - my friend actually did that. The comfort of your own home fails to protect you and others from your induced insanity

0
PeytonManThing 0 points ago +1 / -1

I’m not religious at all. But religion is extremely defensible. And it’s not even “more harm than good.” You’re advocating all drugs and then hide behind weed. You are too fucking stupid to see that these drugs are inherently unsafe. Like a drunk driver, the propensity for harm is immense. And it’s not in the drunk drivers interests to drive drunk either. Same as it’s not in the stupid druggy’s interest to do drugs. No one should be driving drunk. No one should be doing drugs. If you think religion does harm you’re just stupid as fuck. And yes, if you are a stupid fuck that wants to ban religion and legalize drugs, then go start your own country and do exactly that. But I will NEVER stop preventing you from doing it as long as we share a country, and you can go jump off a cliff if you think you’ll ever get me on your side. You’re actually factually 100% wrong. Prohibition reduced alcohol consumption. Outlawing drugs reduces drug consumption. Look at the effects of the opium wars in China, where Britain forced China to accept opium. It destroyed the empire. And who the fuck said I’m against the government in all situations. The government is often the best tool to solve a problem.

1
FireannDireach 1 point ago +1 / -0

He's a stand up comedian, decently successful at it

Debatable. I've seen his stand up, I though it was awful.

I've watched his podcast for years - for the guests, not his views or opinions. When he shuts up and listens, great show. When he starts pontificating, he's just a meathead from Boston who's a curdled mess of pot, woo woo mushroom drug bullshit, and sheer ignorance. But I got introduced to some great people via his show, so I just don't pay attention when he hauls his soapbox out. I skip the MMA shows, because I don't watch MMA, and I skip his comic friends mostly. I skipped Bernie, because fuck that noise.

But I'm not following to Spotify. Fuck Spotify. I have issues with that company ANYWAY, along with Pandora, for how they've treated musicians. Not gonna go down that rabbit hole, but trust me, the musicians I know hate Spotify, and say that the majority of musicians who pay attention to their streaming numbers do as well.

Joe is a fraud. This love affair some have with him and that tool tim pool is just baffling.

13
iamherefortheluls 13 points ago +14 / -1

both Tim Pool and Joe Rogan, each, likely got Trump more votes during this election than this whole site.

Their centrist public position allows them to reach the people in the middle in a way no Trump supporter really can.

That said, I think Joe Rogan leans a bit left of center, but more importantly he employs extremely biased 'fact checkers' on his show, whom he seems to trust.

I honestly don't know if he is a fraud, of he is getting slowly corrupted by his SJW staffers - many times when I tuned in to his show, I watched him ask for a fact check and get MSM talking points back.

3
A1waysLurk1ing 3 points ago +5 / -2

He is a trend runner, a click baiter, a social chameleon who sits on the fence and takes on whatever position it takes. He is a headline jockey too, so he can sound smart but he is actually mostly just a moron.

6
iamherefortheluls 6 points ago +6 / -0

my take on him is he does his best to be non-confrontational with every guest he gets to come on his show.

Which is why he actually gets guests from all sides of the spectrum.

If he set a hard position on anything, people who oppose that position, wouldn't come on to his show.

you are not wrong, but social chameleons have their value. They are one of the few remaining bridges that connect political divides. There is a reason the left has been targeting Joe Rogan so heavily these last months (Spotify employees actively trying to harass Spotify into somehow going back on the deal they made with Rogan and compel him to give up editorial control of the show).

Joe Rogan, from what I heard is literally the biggest podcast voice in english speaking world. His reach is mostly due to him being a fence-sitter and his audience mostly acknowledges that his role is to just be a sounding-board for whatever guest is on his show that day.

It's so funny because that's a common tactic of the left wing media: blowing a situation to its largest possible proportion.

It's like when they harped on "Russians hacking the election." What does that mean? Does it mean soft entry into ballot machines and changing results? Does it mean physical disposal or fabrication of ballots? Does it mean a mass disinformation campaign with an equally great wave of regret? No! It was just 10 Facebook accounts owned by Russians, which, in the broadest sense of the word, is "hacking an election."
