Yeah he’s obsessed with drugs. I’ve never been a fan

I’ve never listened to his podcast, but I caught him a couple times as a guest on the Corolla podcast. I remember him explaining his theory that psychedelic mushrooms were planted here by aliens to teach us a their language. He was completely serious.

I hate his stand ups because of this. It's like listening to a 50 year old frat boy.

Definitely a man-child

He's making a Sweeping Generalization, but the psychoactive drugs are all over the place in some religious origins. That's archeological, anthropological, scientific and historic fact at this point.

As an example: https://psychedelicgospels.com/

If you're studying Anthropology, Ethno-Botany, and Comparative Religious Studies, these scientific and historical facts are unavoidable.

The Ancient Hebrew Anointing Oil (Christos is a Greek Title, meaning "Anointed One"), has been show by Israeli Scientists repeatedly to have contained large amounts of psychoactive cannabis alkaloids. The recipe is literally Biblical in Origin.

The evidence is simply overwhelming.

This is not an advocacy, but one must give credit where credit is due. Psychoactive Drugs irrefutably play a role in the origins of the world's Major Religions, and many, many cults. The suppression of this information by say The Roman Catholic Church, and Sects of Christianity, along with Rabbinical Judaism, as examples, have been relentless.

Even many here today, reading this, would chose to suppress the information if they could because it conflicts with, or threatens their world view. But thankfully, the Scientific Community continues to discover more evidence as to these realities with each passing year.

Edit: Note the several Down Toots. These are the same types of minds that would have burned those who possessed this knowledge at the stake. Also drowned, hung, shot, and visited the Horrors of The Inquisition, along with all manner of tortures, all for knowledge of psychopharmacology, and choosing what some perceive as Gnosis with their Creator, through Ecstatic States. Quite telling, the Religious Zealotry, even across time.

So important was this understanding of induced Ecstatic States, the in was Enshrined by the Founders of America, who held the knowledge via their Free Masonic Initiations. Benjamin Franklin even designed a Medal, containing the Wisdom of Antiquity, as he saw it. https://realitysandwich.com/319569/magic-mushrooms-in-north-america-before-the-wassons/

You might want to take anything with John Allegro off the list. He went full retard and published the most embarrassing book of biblical scholarship ofthe 20th century.

Problem is, if you take Allegro out then the argument that Christianity started as a psychedelic drug cult goes with him.

Thankfully, Stoned Ape Theory has nothing to do with any cult shit

Embarrassing how exactly, and for whom?

http://www.johnallegro.org/the-defamation-of-allegro-by-jan-irvin-excerpted-from-astrotheology-shamanism/

Beyond Allegro: There is a mountain of evidence for entheogenic mushrooms in Christianity, some of which was referenced in part, in the documentaries linked.

Academia at present does not share your opinions, at all. I'm afraid you've been left in the dustbin of history, old boi.

Edit: Per Allegro's "Full Retard" which was him actually going against the ridiculous "Scholarship" of the Catholic Archdiocese in Jordan, under Rockefeller Control(Rockefeller Institute). For those unfamiliar, the otherScholars translating the Dead Sea Scrolls fragments, all of whom were Religious, would bring their translations to the Mon-Senior in charge, and he would inform them to change the translation if it conflicted with Catholic Doctrine, per the Orders from Rome.

Further, the scroll fragments were just stuffed in baskets, in non climate controlled facilities, and evident "Foot Dragging" on moving the translations forward at all. No efforts were being made to preserve the ancient scrolls against further degredations, and Allegro arrived at the conclusion that Rome had the hope that they would eventually degrade beyond recognition, thus eliminating any controversy with Church Doctrine.

Allegro was only on the project due to massive International Outcry, from the world academic community, as having the Roman Catholic Church, in charge of Ancient Jewish Writings, seemed ludicrious. Needless to say, Allegro was horrified, and refused to go along with the sham, as he was not religious, and GAVE ZERO FUCKS about Catholic Dogma. So he published his findings, despite Rome threatening to destroy his career.

For further defense of Allegro: The Holy Mushroom Evidence of Mushrooms in Judeo-Christianity: A critical re-evaluation of the schism between John M. Allegro and R. Gordon Wasson over the theory on the entheogenic origins of Christianity presented in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross by J.R. Irvin, © 2008. ISBN 13: 9781439215173 Published: October 2008 Library of Congress Control Number: 2008909509 With 38 colour, and 7 B&W plates

Ahh, linking to Allegro hagiography to prove that he wasn't bonkers...are you not familiar with how you go about checking an academic source?

If you actually think "academia" is on board with this then I genuinely feel sorry for you.

Thanks for the insanely detailed response. I get it and I’m not interested in suppression. But I worship God not “Science.” Joe always strikes me as one of those guys really quick to take a shot at God and I don’t really care for it.

The concept of a Creator doesn't seem to be in his lexicon. He says flat out that he's a meathead, and his appeal to authority is constant at this point. Although seemingly not a Higher Authority.

Thanks for acknowledging the post, it does take time and effort to relay. Hope it's useful in some capacity. If the premise is that we have a Creator, within this construct, all exists within the creation. Meaning everything has a purpose. Some have argued since recorded history that certain Sacraments were created for the purposes of Communion.

It does become annoying that a meat head like Joe is this large scale arbiter of discussion around these topics.

You forgot to add Yoga, and Meditation. There are many different paths.

As I said, not an advocacy, as much as acknowledging the Historical Facts. We do need dialogue on it, over on the Political Right. Many, if not most chose to sweep it under the rug, so the Left just runs wild with it, and Degeneracy is clearly a part of the rift between the two sides.

That whole idea of reading books, instead of burning or suppressing them.
