You might want to take anything with John Allegro off the list. He went full retard and published the most embarrassing book of biblical scholarship ofthe 20th century.
Problem is, if you take Allegro out then the argument that Christianity started as a psychedelic drug cult goes with him.
Beyond Allegro:
There is a mountain of evidence for entheogenic mushrooms in Christianity, some of which was referenced in part, in the documentaries linked.
Academia at present does not share your opinions, at all. I'm afraid you've been left in the dustbin of history, old boi.
Edit:
Per Allegro's "Full Retard" which was him actually going against the ridiculous "Scholarship" of the Catholic Archdiocese in Jordan, under Rockefeller Control(Rockefeller Institute). For those unfamiliar, the otherScholars translating the Dead Sea Scrolls fragments, all of whom were Religious, would bring their translations to the Mon-Senior in charge, and he would inform them to change the translation if it conflicted with Catholic Doctrine, per the Orders from Rome.
Further, the scroll fragments were just stuffed in baskets, in non climate controlled facilities, and evident "Foot Dragging" on moving the translations forward at all. No efforts were being made to preserve the ancient scrolls against further degredations, and Allegro arrived at the conclusion that Rome had the hope that they would eventually degrade beyond recognition, thus eliminating any controversy with Church Doctrine.
Allegro was only on the project due to massive International Outcry, from the world academic community, as having the Roman Catholic Church, in charge of Ancient Jewish Writings, seemed ludicrious. Needless to say, Allegro was horrified, and refused to go along with the sham, as he was not religious, and GAVE ZERO FUCKS about Catholic Dogma. So he published his findings, despite Rome threatening to destroy his career.
I am familiar with and have spent, and will continue to spend many hours of time on Lexis Nexis, and various Academic Portals.
You didn't cite a recent refutation of Allegro, at all. If one encounters Ethnobotany, and Entheobotany in even Undergrad Anthropology, Archaeology, Sociology, or Historic Psychopharmacology, especially within an Comparative Religions Context, it is a mainstream sense at this point, per the textbooks having to cover it, at least as a Theory.
This means you have far more than just Allegro's work to contend with, across a spectrum of Disciplines. The connections between Mithraism, and Christianity, at this point, both containing Astro-theological dying and resurrecting Solar Agricultural Deities, are unambiguous. In the case of Mithraism, you again for The Mushroom Cult. What exactly was/is your Academic Background?

Thankfully, Stoned Ape Theory has nothing to do with any cult shit
Embarrassing how exactly, and for whom?

For further defense of Allegro: The Holy Mushroom Evidence of Mushrooms in Judeo-Christianity: A critical re-evaluation of the schism between John M. Allegro and R. Gordon Wasson over the theory on the entheogenic origins of Christianity presented in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross by J.R. Irvin, © 2008. Ahh, linking to Allegro hagiography to prove that he wasn't bonkers...are you not familiar with how you go about checking an academic source?
If you actually think "academia" is on board with this then I genuinely feel sorry for you.
