As I said, not an advocacy, as much as acknowledging the Historical Facts. We do need dialogue on it, over on the Political Right. Many, if not most chose to sweep it under the rug, so the Left just runs wild with it, and Degeneracy is clearly a part of the rift between the two sides.

And it is precisely because of a Religious Background, and beginning to find oddities and idiosyncratic factoids with historic Drug Cults/ Religions, that it is a foregone conclusion that others will follow the same path, at least in the exploration of ideas. These ideas are openly thrown about, along with the Scientific and Historical Evidence in the University Environment. It must be understood that these Religious Sacraments were not used in recreational settings, as many of them(Like Mushrooms), were seasonal, and rare. They were ingested in ritual, and prayer, under specific conditions, with guidance from Wise Elders/ Priests. I won't belabor the point, but those historical realities must be integrated, and acknowledged.
The consequences of not doing so, create the legions of those who have been victimized, unknowingly damaging their psyches. In the case of a great many young people in the 1960's and 1970's, they destroyed their potential, and some have made the argument that this was by design. See Tavistock Institute, and the CIA being the largest single supplier of LSD-25 in the US for many years. Drug use can destroy Critical Thinking and Reasoning Faculties.
