It's like the "it's different this time" meme for socialists and commies. It doesn't matter how you feel about degeneracy or morality or porn or anything, if your solutions are trash and make the situation worse.
They believe there is a slope of degeneracy you slide down. Might be true, might not be. They've not convinced me they have the right solution to that problem either way. I guess they feel it could be a stepping stone, that you have to cut the crap out if you want to even get closer to the core problem. I've yet to see an effective way of doing this, and I'm not sure it's possible given our status as sinners on earth. What do they do when they cut the crap out? Where do they go then? What do they tackle next, since there probably is a reason humans are sinners and can fall into and create degeneracy...I guess I'm just not convinced they even know what they're doing. Makes me think of the same feel good legislation the left gets crapped on for. Usually only causes more problems but makes you feel good for a quick minute.
Edit: I also L O L at people talking about how communism and libertarianism are utopian fantasies while being just as dumb in their own utopian ideology. Case in point that guy. These people are intellectual midwits with bad twitter takes. They just haven't realized they're the same style of NPCs, just like the libertarians and communists and fascists (or any group) they oppose.
