News stations and other media have articles already made for things they see possible in the future so they can quickly edit, and publish it very quickly. Look for "news station accidentally posts article that (someone) died".
They probably have many other articles of many other people getting the Chinese virus for the same purpose.
I'm not trying to defend the media in any way, but I don't think this instance is because they knew of any attempts to infect pence. But I don't know, and only time will tell.
