That's not booby trapping, so yes.
So if you line your sign in barbed wire or razor wire it's legal.
Most of this stuff happens at night, and they always run up and snatch without looking.
Personally, I'm partial to digging a small ditch and filling it with mud.
It is if the person who was told where your sign is is blind- how is that scenario any different?
