The fallacy of "listen to the science" is that the problem is not solely a scientific one -- it's a combination of science, economics, and ethics.

Science may point to "lockdown" as the solution that minimizes death. However, economics informs us that "lockdown" is as harmful as the disease itself. Ethics informs us, that now that we know that 99.7% of people will survive infection, that no one owes a special duty to avoid spreading it [the elderly with a 95% survival should isolate themselves]. The President needs to balance all of these, make a decision, and set a direction.

President Trump has decided the lockdown has gone on long enough and achieved its objectives. Now the harm is greater to people to not to return to work. Extended lockdowns are a luxury of the rich.
